Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data yang diperoleh dari wawancara, hasil observasi partisipan serta penggalian sumber dari referensi yang sesuai dengan topik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak ada pandangan buruk terkait santri ataupun Pondok Pesantren tempat santri menimba ilmu,
tetapi sebaliknya permasalahan terkait pandangan buruk masyarakat muncul dalam diri setiap individu (santri) hal ini dapat disebabkan oleh faktor lingkungan, sosial maupun budaya. Pengajaran di Pondok Pesantren tidak sebatas teori melainkan diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Di samping itu Pondok Pesantren memiliki nilai-nilai luhur dan budaya keislaman maupun kebangsaan yang sangat sulit ditemukan pada pendidikan selain pesantren.

ABSTRACT
Santri is someone who studies religion (Islam) and always faithfully follows the teacher where he goes and stays.
Without the existence of students who stay and follow the teacher, it is impossible to build a hut or dormitory where the students live and then it is called a boarding school. Various views that emerged in the community caused problems regarding students only being able to recite the Koran, in fact students could master various fields by following the times, especially for students at the Roudlotul Mubtadiin Islamic Boarding School, Balekambang Jepara.
For this reason, this study seeks to examine and analyze the extent to which teachers and alumni of the Roudlotul Mubtadiin Balekambang Jepara Islamic Boarding School evaluate the views of the community regarding Islamic Boarding Schools. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods with data sources obtained from interviews, participant observation results, and research sources from references that are in accordance with the topic.
The results of the study show that there are no bad views regarding students or Islamic boarding schools where students gain knowledge, but on the contrary problems related to the bad views of society arise in each individual (santri) this can be caused by environmental, social and cultural factors.
Teaching in Islamic boarding schools is not limited to being applied in everyday life. In addition, Islamic boarding schools have noble values and Islamic and national culture which are very difficult to find in education other than pesantren.
