Eksperimennya dilakukan dengan membuat percobaan pada tikus, diberi perlakuan  diet tempe yang mengandung  GABA, sedangkan kontrolnya dikasi protein  kedelai dan kasein.  Setelah 6 ,inggu  minggu  dilakukan pengamatan, lalu dipuasakan selama 8 jam, stelah itu  dianalisis darah,  bahwa Ditemukan bahwa kadar triasilgliserol plasma menurun secara signifikan dengan konsumsi GABA-tempe dibandingkan dengan protein kedelai dan kasein. Semakin tinggi high density lipoprotein (HDL) dan kadar kolesterol low density lipoprotein (LDL) yang lebih rendah pada kelompok GABA-tempe dibandingkan dengan kelompok lain disukai efek antiaterosklerosis GABA-tempe. GABA-tempe dianggap sebagai makanan antihipertensi karena sangat kaya akan GABA. Hasil gabungan ini menunjukkan bahwa asupan GABA-tempe dapat mencegah penyakit yang berhubungan dengan gaya hidup seperti hipertensi dan hiperlipidemia. Moga bermanfaat*****
