English version

I read "The Little History of The World" by E.H Gombrich, I like the book, because the words are utterly understandable. Well actually this book was written for children, but I think nothing wrong to have a look. It's fun to feel like a children again. (Come on don't give me that look, I read The "God History "by Karen Armstrong when I was teenager, but I think I forget and will love to review the book again. Anyone have the copy? :D)

I just finish chapter 20 "There is no God But Allah, and Muhammad is His Prophet" that is how shahadas is. The sentences to convert to be a muslim.

I would like to give my comments about this chapter.

This chapter begin with the description about the situation in Arab land, geographically and the behaviour of the people. Then start a brief story about Muhammad's background, where he came from and his family.

Everything that the author write in this chapter is actually true. But, I see that the author framing the reader to a particular point of view. Or maybe that's all what he knew about.

Which make me think, if these are the facts that people knows about how Islam is, no wonder people dislike it. Furthermore, if children read this chapter, without guide from the adults, they might hate Muslim. And you know that is critical.

"He (Muhammad) told his followers that they must fight for this teaching and be victorious, and that to kill  an unbeliever who refuse to recognise him as the Prophet is no sin. That a brave warrior who dies in fighting for his faith, for Allah and the Prophet, goes straight to Heaven while infidels (unbelievers) and cowards go to hell." That was what written in the book.

That is true, but...
