ABSTRACT
Literature, especially poetry, continues to have its own charm with developments so that poets or writers continue to be born from time to time. The purpose of this study is to describe the sound and meaning of the essay in the poem "Inspiration Without Fire" by Tri Budhi Sastrio.

Instruments in the study consisted of the main instrument and supporting instruments. The research procedure was carried out with three stages of procedures, namely (1) the preparation stage, (2) the implementation stage, and (3) the completion stage.
The results showed that the sounds in the three poems by Tri Budhi Satri have a rhythm where each stanza has a rhyme. this is a unique value and its own attraction. Kakafoni and Efoni are both found in the three poems that show harmonious and disharmonious sounds.
The general meaning of the three poems analyzed shows a meaning in the form of the abundant wealth of the archipelago; both in terms of natural resources, culture, social, heroes or literature in the poet. However, all of this cannot be fully enjoyed by the Indonesian people because of the large number of irresponsible people, be it foreigners or natives who are called corruptors.
