A state of reluctance emerges to expose how every violation of human rights in Indonesia remains visible, ousting the voice of minorities and allowing the majority in religion, ethnic, and sexual orientation to take control without any comprehensive solutions, mostly from the government apparatus. The sealing of st clara church despite the local government legalization, the disbandment of church activities, such as Stephen Tong's worship, the banning of Ahmadiyah and Shia communities.

Some art performances used to be postponed due to a negotiation between some groups alleging them to contain some communism values and the performances organizers, such as Rusa Berbulu Merah, a memoar story of Tan Malaka in Bandung. Two public universities in West Sumatra and West Java ever released an announcement containing a prohibition for LGBT to be re-registered in their campuses.

To add even worse, Bandung was declared as the city of human rights in 2015 despite most of their government apparatus' lack of human rights perspectives and emerging human rights cases, meanwhile West Java is still appointed number 1 of the province to conduct discrimnating and intolerant practices, particularly towards minorities groups in religions, women, as well as different sexual orientations.

Before the closing of 2017, remembering the Indonesian President's promise to overcome most of human rights issues, the state still is facing a series of existing obstacles, and obviously no need of an array of new regulations is on the set-up. It is believed that the state's regulations have sufficiently lodged various interests of societies coming from different backgrounds of ethnics, religions, social, and economy.

The human rights accomplishment actually should have stood as a milestone for the state to show their seriousness for bracing human rights issues, moreover it gained international attention. Then, are all of us well prepared to overcome the year's human rights issues and welcome the new ones in the following year?
