iPad Theft with a Book in Rosalia Indah Bus

Recently the media was shocked by theft in the bus Rosalia Indah majoring Purwokerto - Wonosobo - Jakarta which replaced the target item with thick books and ceramics as weights. It happened to Widino Arnoldy as a passenger and also a victim of this incident which went from Wonosobo to Ciputat.

He once praised the bus for its comfort and facilities, but now he lost his iPad. Ironic. This incident was described through his Twitter account @widino, uploaded on Wednesday at around 5.30 pm. Initially, he wanted to make a report but received an unfavorable response from the Rosalia Indah Bus Customer Service.

"I was annoyed, called CS instead of listening, then checked, and immediately answered that the loss was not our responsibility. Hah??????"

He was disappointed due to his complaint was ignored, instead of getting followed up, the CS answered we are not responsible for any loss.

Then he told the chronology through his account of the incident. In the tweet, he explained that he always carried the bag of his iPad everywhere and never left it on the bus. But he started to feel worried when he arrived at the Ciputat pool and saw his bag zipper couldn't be opened.

He said "Even though I was carrying the bag, I never left it on the bus, until the Kedung Roso rest area, the iPad was still here. I was suspicious when I arrived at the Ciputat Pool, why the zipper couldn't be opened like it was glued on, I checked it and still there in my bag, it turned out that when I opened it at home, the iPad was replaced with a book 😡"

The incident started when he stopped at a restaurant. He was explained in his tweet.

"After eating at Kedung Roso it was still there, and the bag could still be opened. When I got on the bus, I put the bag in the top trunk right above where I was sitting so I could stretch out, I was sitting in the aisle so I thought he could keep an eye on my bag. Along the way, I also played with my phone. The thief seemed to have been waiting for me to let my guard down.

There was indeed one suspicious person he wasn't a bus crew member but was a friend of the bus crew member. I saw this person several times and was asked to move to sit with the crew member. Then go back and forth from front to back. If this is your gang, what do you think, @Rosalia_Ind?? Then casually say it's the passenger's responsibility. We passengers are also aware that our bags have been properly looked after."

Unfortunately, he had to lose a 2020 iPad Pro which came with a pencil and keyboard, as well as the chargers. The iPad can not be tracked by Find My iPad app.

He immediately contacted Rosalia Indah Customer Service the response was deficient.

"When I got home and found out that the iPad had been replaced with a book, I could only apologize, that's it. But when I called CS @Rosalia_Ind I got emotional. OK, you know, I reported the loss of the item but was immediately answered "The loss is not our responsibility" and kept repeating that. I asked to check the crew of bus 372 Wonosobo - Jakarta first and they answered "Not our responsibility". How can you not get emotional?"

Widino suspects that there is a plot. And it turned out when a similar incident was experienced by the passenger in the front seat of him at the same time.

"Oh my God, this is the guy who was on the same bus with me last night at Rosalia Indah 372, he was sitting in front of me but on the right side. The exchange was the same, yellow pages book + ceramics @Rosalia_Ind can't let it go like this, last night there were 2 victims. Still want to hide behind the phrase "losing things is not our responsibility?"

Rosalia Indah Bus theft case, allegedly not the first incident, similar method, bags are glued instead of using books.

After it went viral, Rosalia Indah Company made a tweet about a press release follow-up on lost items users. They apologized for the incident that happened and started the investigation process.

"PRESS RELEASE FOLLOW UP ON LOST ITEMS USERS OF ROSALIA INDAH BUS SERVICES

PT Rosalia Indah Transport management is currently carrying out a further investigation process internally. This investigation will involve bus crews at the relevant bus units who have been scheduled to call the center to take part in the investigation process.

PT Rosalia Indah Transport apologizes for the incident that happened to our loyal passengers and will commit to completing the investigation process."

The unfortunate thing is that cases are only prosecuted after they go viral. At least this case has a process so that similar cases don't happen anymore.

For those people who want to travel around, no matter with any transportation is used, we need to make sure that our stuff is secure. Keep eyes on it and stay safe!
