Selamatan di Budaya Jawa

Rasulullah replied: "They are people who love each other for the sake of Allah, gather together for the sake of Allah, and visit one another for the sake of Allah." (Narrated by An-Nasai in As-Sunan Al-Kubra). 

So, for most Javanese "selamatan "is not only a culture that must be preserved. But it is also a form of gratitude for the pleasures that have been given. Also as a place to strengthen relations in society. Also as a form of sign there is obedience to the commands of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
