I took some photographs about the activity of Local Javanese Women which is stayed in Gamplong Village, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This is activity usually called as 'MENENUN' (in Bahasa). This is a main activity of the women and they does it everyday. The gamplong village is wellknown as a tourism village with the main product is offering people about craft and souvenirs handmade. The women doing menenun start from 9am to 4pm everyday except the holiday. Here some pictures that i`ve made.

Both photos tells us about the woman power behind tenun. They both Menenun everyday. The average of the worker is above 45 years old, but they still having a great spirit to create an extraordinary stuff.

They both never says old to create something

The thread was spined by this machine. The machine called ATBM (Alat Tenun Bukan Mesin : In Bahasa)

And this one, is the room that using to menenun. Not too large, but can patching for 20 machines for 20 workers

And voila, i straight forward, go straight again into the next place but im still found the activity like above. And here is the result. A beautiful leather which called with : 'LURIK' with natural dye concept but so catchy

Traditional Javanese Clothe called : Pranakan. This clothe usually wear by the 'Abdi Dalem' Keraton Yogyakarta and having an unique philosophy. The pranakan using Lurik as a main fabric. So ethnic, effortless beautiful. The price is about 150K

That`s the one of the greatness things which you can find it in Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. So, have you feel interest to see directly? So, just welcome here. I`m glad to introduce you the other beautiful things in Yogyakarta. ^^
