Wulf and Eadwacer is a part of Exeter Book. The exeter book is a significant collection of Old English literature. It considered the largest and perhaps oldest known manuscript of Old English literature. The book is a book with the collection of poetry. The book contains a lot of poetry and it’s very important to the cathedral and english literature.
Wulf and eadwacer focuses on the theme of love separation, and longing. It tells the a woman who stuck in a marriage she doesn’t want and she’s still love someone else, Wulf. This poem shows how hard it’s to deal with feelings that are not allowed by society.
From this poem, it’s highlighted one of the most important things about the poem, it show how strong love. This can be seen in the line “Wulf is on an island, I on another”. The line shows that they are separated but the strength of the speaker's love for Wulf cannot be stopped by anything and anyone.
