The Advantaged of Learning German When in High School

If we talk about foreign language subject matter for Indonesians. Maybe what is on the mind of many people is English. However, in 2008 the Yogyakarta government began requiring secondary schools to learn a language other than English, some of the schools choose the language being German. Some other schools choose other languages besides German.

Why studying German in Highschool?

German is known to be one the greatest country in terms of business, science art, and technology so it is worth of shot to studying their literature for better knowledge. Many great people are born from German, for example, Goethe, Kafka, Freud, Mozart, the event the famous musician Beethoven is from German. By studying German there's a chance that there are some valuable document with high knowledge from those famous great people that can only be read in Germany

Purposes to study Germany in High school?

"Language is the bridge of knowledge" (Mark G,2020). If we talk about the purpose of studying german language, this quote is actually the one who fits in. The purposes to study German language are many. One of the biggest goals is to facilitate some students in Indonesia to study abroad because German country one of the greatest countries that have modern and advanced science. Another purpose is to make the student of Indonesian understand the literature and art of Germany besides English

Expertise in German will make it easier to make connections with expats in a company.

For a professional, German language skills can also increase the chances of developing a career abroad, especially in Germany. Moreover, Germany is a business and technology center.

Is it hard to study Germany?

Even though it is said to be one of the most complex languages, there is no harm in learning German since high school. Maybe at the very beginning, some students will be confused because it's not their primary language. But don't worry, they just need time. Some of the schools try to make students understand by making games so the student not having a boring time trying to understand this complex language. Plus some of the words are literally almost no different from English for example "book" in Germany they called it "Buch" and  the word "lamp" they called it "Lampe"
