Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2024, organized by Jakarta International Expo, officially opened on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. This largest, most comprehensive, and longest-running exhibition in Southeast Asia stands as concrete evidence of the MICE industry's contribution to Indonesia's economic growth. The fair, which coincides with the 497th anniversary of Jakarta and marks its 55th edition, was attended by the public and industry players from various sectors.
Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2024 lasted for 33 days (June 12 - July 14) and provided unforgettable experiences for its visitors. With the theme "Jakarta Fair Supporting National Economic Growth in Indonesia" and the sub-theme "Let Us All Enthusiastically Promote Successful Industrialization, Innovation, and Trade Both Nationally and Internationally," the event aimed to increase employment, reduce unemployment, and enhance the productivity of the Indonesian people.
This theme was chosen considering Indonesia's economy, which has started to show signs of recovery, and the equitable distribution across all industrial sectors that has revitalized the domestic economy. Additionally, Jakarta Fair Kemayoran serves as a benchmark for the development of the MICE industry in Indonesia. Following the successful examples of global MICE industries in countries like Singapore, Japan, the United States, and Europe, JFK 2024 demonstrates Indonesia's commitment to developing this sector as part of a broader economic strategy.
Secretary of the Jakarta Provincial Government, Joko Agus Setyono, revealed that Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) 2024, over its 33-day duration, generated transactions worth IDR 7.5 trillion and attracted a total of 6.3 million visitors. "This figure shows an increase from last year's transactions, which totaled IDR 7.3 trillion," Joko said in Jakarta on Monday, July 15. He explained that JFK 2024 not only celebrated Jakarta's 497th anniversary but also stimulated Indonesia's economic activities and promoted growth across all industrial sectors, including the MICE industry.
With all the achievements and positive impacts generated, Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2024 is expected to inspire other cities in Indonesia to develop the MICE industry and harness its potential in driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
