Education is an important part of building the nation's characters. The world of education in Indonesia is currently developing more and more rapidly. From year to year the improvement in the field of education is increasingly evident. Starting from learning methods that are increasingly varied, learning curriculums that are getting better and learning media that are increasingly diverse. One of the learning media that is increasingly being used is internet media.
The internet as a medium that is able to provide information quickly, easily and cheaply is the main alternative for obtaining information relate to the subject matter provided by the teaching staff.
Currently, the existence of the internet is very widely used. To be able to access the internet, of course, we need a suitable network, one example of which is a hotspot, nowadays in some schools there are many free hotspot facilities for students and other school residents to use.
Students of SMK Negeri 1 Klaten class XI of the TJKT Department have created a hotspot network as a learning practicum material for the TJKT department. In this article, researchers have tested the use of hotspots.
At the beginning of checking hotspot created by class XI TJKT 3 show that not all groups can set up the hotspot, even so there were about 30% of all groups who managed to set up the hotspot correctly. however, finally in the last experiment all groups in class XI TJKT 3, can set up correctly.
According to the Intel.co.id website, a hotspot is a physical location where people can access the Internet, usually using Wi-Fi, through a wireless local area network (WLAN) with a router connected to an Internet service provider (ISP).
In short, a hostpot is a network service that only exists within a place. So when someone visits a place, and there is a hostpot service in that place. Then that person can become a client of the hostpot by connecting the hostpot using a smartphone or other device.
How a Hostpot Works
The way a hotspot works is that it is a device that emits radio waves that will be captured by the user's laptop or personal digital assistant (PDA) that has been equipped with Wi-Fi technology. If the user opens his internet browser in the hotspot area, the main page of the hotspot service provider will appear.
Then the user must enter his username and login password. Once the verification process is complete, the user is connected to the virtual world.
There some benefits we can get from internet
Easy Internet AccessÂ
With hotspots, students can easily access the internet from their devices without the need to use complicated cables or routers. This is very useful for students when they are doing mobile learning.
The teaching and learning process becomes easier
Hotspot facilities in schools provide convenience for teachers in the teaching and learning process. The learning process is sophisticated and can be accessed easily by students at school, making the process more practical.
Cost-effectiveÂ
With hotspots, students and teachers can save on their internet costs as they don't have to pay for internet access on every device they use.
Flexibility
Hotspots provide flexibility in how users access the internet. Students and teachers can access the internet from anywhere as long as there is a cellular signal available, and they can use any device that supports Wi-Fi connection.
Increased ProductivityÂ
With hotspots, users can increase student and teacher productivity as they can access the internet from anywhere at any time. For teachers, it is easier to give assignments online and students can also work on them online using the available hotspot access.
In conclusion, the implementation of Hotspots in schools can support an effective and efficient learning process in schools. With fast and stable internet access, students can access online learning resources easily, and teachers can conduct online learning smoothly.
However, keep in mind that the use of hotspots in schools must be done wisely and responsibly so as not to disrupt the learning process and optimize its benefits.
