upon this solemn Good Friday's dawn
where shadows stretch across the lawn
a hush descends upon the land
as hearts recall, and souls understand
in silence, bowed heads do mourn
for on this day, a truth is born
a tale of sacrifice, of love so deep
where pain and sorrow eternally weep
through winding streets and rugged path
He bore His cross in righteous wrath
each step a burden, each moment grim
yet through it all, His light did dim
upon the hill, where sky meets earth
The Savior's cry, a solemn rebirth
forgiveness whispered in each breath
redemption granted, conquering death
oh, Good Friday, a day so dear
a day of reckoning, of hope so near
for in the darkness, a light does shine
guiding souls to the divine
so let us pause, in reverence true
and contemplate what love can do
for on this day, in history's span
