INT. CHINESE RESTAURANT - MOMENTS LATER
ZICO's staring at the table.
INDAH continues staring at him.
                            ZICO
                When I was in middle school,
                the court granted their termination
                of marriage. Finally--
                           INDAH
                Dad just vanished?
He STARES at the ceiling.
                            ZICO
                If I had a second chance, I'd lock
                the front door and sleep outside
                that night.
                      (closes his eyes)
                Losing once is unforgettable.
                Losing twice is unforgivable.
INDAH's eyes grow hot. BRIMMING with tears.
She turns away. FIGHTING not to blink.
Their orders arrive.
She GETS UP.
Gives ZICO the restroom signal.
THREE MINUTES LATER
INDAH folds her hands. Bows her head. Closes her eyes.
ZICO watches. Follows her lead until she's done.
She smiles and motions for him to start.

                The snapper noodles look delicious...

                The fried rice is also good.
                The spring rolls, too.

The restaurant starts to fill up.
ZICO and INDAH stir their drinks.
She NOTICES him staring.
At her RING.
                           INDAH
                        (not looking)
                His name's RADEN. He proposed
                in August.
He RAISES his gaze.
She LOWERS hers.

                I work in the church office.
                He is one of the activists.
He NOTICES her staring.
At his NECKLACE.

INT. VENEZIA CAFE, SURABAYA - NIGHT
A CHRISTMAS TREE in the corner.
ZICO and YUNA sit opposite each other.
He REACHES for his necklace.
Takes it off.
Puts it into HER PALM.
Yuna TEARS UP.

In silence, ZICO and INDAH stare at their empty dishes.
                            ZICO
                I love Yuna.
She SHIFTS her gaze to him.
                            ZICO
                But I've never been in love with her.
He RETURNS her gaze.
                            ZICO
                At the end of the day, she begged me
                to wear this as a keepsake. Confessed
                that I had been her only crush since
                elementary school. The love of her life.
He LOOKS at the necklace.
                            ZICO
                But sometimes this thing makes
                me feel like I'm in the wrong--

                      (her eyes widen)

She shakes her head.

His eyes are staring at the NECKLACE.

He takes his seat.
Looks INDAH in the eye.

                     (points to his neck)

                            ZICO
                INDAHSARI, you love your fiance?
Her jaw DROPS.
She lowers her face.
Five seconds later, she NODS.

FAINTLY she nods.

                You're willing to spend fifty years,
                sixty years of your only life with that man?
EXT. PAJEKSAN ROAD, NITIDIPURAN ROAD - MOMENTS LATER
ZICO and INDAH leave the restaurant in silence.
He always makes her walk on the inside of a sidewalk.
Always holds her hand when crossing the streets.
She LOWERS her face the entire time.
He NOTICES.
EXT. CHURCH'S FRONT YARD
They step into the gate.
He turns to face her.
                            ZICO
                INDAHSARI...
She raises her face without looking.
                            ZICO
                   (brings his face closer)
                Did I say something wrong?
She shakes her head. Still not looking.

She GLANCES at him.
                            ZICO
                May I invite you for dinner this weekend?
She's BLUSHING
GAZING at him.
After five seconds, she gives him A NOD.
                            ZICO
                            Hmm?

                Yes, you may.
           ZICO            INDAH
      Alright.         Okay
EXT. MALIOBORO STREETSIDE - NIGHT
INDAH and her fiance Raden, age 28, have dinner at a lesehan eatery.
She bows her head all the time.
INT. RADEN'S SEDAN (MOVING) - LATER
The couple sit in a sedan.
Raden watches the traffic all the time.
Indah lowers her face all the time.
EXT. ZICO'S MOTORBIKE (MOVING) - NIGHT
ZICO and INDAH ride a motorbike in the gloaming.
They chat. Share a smile.
Point at the STREET FOOD STALLS.
At the PURPLE SUNSET.
INT. FRIED CHICKEN RESTAURANT - LATER
ZICO sits across from INDAH.
STARING at her.
She's blushing. Smiling shyly.
                           INDAH
                        (looks away)
                Why are you looking at me like that?
                            ZICO
                Your dream came true.
                           INDAH

                            ZICO
                Working in an office--
                           INDAH

Her face LIGHTS UP.
She starts STARING at him.

                            ZICO
                I want to work in an office like you do.

                            ZICO

They burst into laughter.
The orders arrive.

ZICO and INDAH eat with their hands.
She places a plate of EGGPLANT next to his.
Smiles playfully to him.
He glances at it. Shakes his head.

He smiles playfully to her.
She's blushing and smiling shyly.

                     (shakes her head)
                I don't want to eat pickled lettuce anymore.
                            ZICO

She SMILES. BITES her lower lip. STARING at him.
ZICO and INDAH are LOCKING EYES.
Suddenly she LOWERS her eyes. Her face.
                           INDAH
                    (whispers to herself)

ZICO and INDAH sip their drinks.
He leans in. LOOKS at neighboring diners.
                            ZICO
                         (whispers)

She brings her face closer.

They smile and make a pinky promise.

                I learned that women's lips are

She shakes her head.

INDAH and Raden walk to the front door.
He STOPS. Turns to face her.
She smiles at him.

He returns her smile.
Gradually leans in. Brings his face closer.
She takes A STEP BACK.
                           RADEN
                When will you let me kiss your lips?
