Crunchy starch cracker for making a little noise during eating :) Put as topping of Kupat Sayur

5. Bawang Goreng

It is the fried onion as topping to give stronger taste and smell of Kupat Sayur.

6. Tahu

Boiled tofu, as topping as well. Cooked in water and sweet soy ketchup.

Sorry, you don't have chair here :) so just look for the comfortable place to sit, everywhere you like. Eating Kupat Sayur here can be so enjoyable with your surroundings view. So it is not just to taste the authentic Jakarta food, but also to feel the life of old Jakarta. It is matched each other because Kupat Sayur is also very old menu from Jakarta. Such a pleasant combination.

The Spot is here

It is just so near with the important site, Jakarta Kota train station. The Kupat Sayur sellers  are usually exactly in front of Stadhuis which was a city hall in the past, now it becomes Museum Sejarah Jakarta (Museum of Jakarta's History). The sellers do not have permanent place. They move around Kota Tua area by bringing their boxes of food in shoulder as the center of pedestal. Bring your own water because usually Kupat Sayur sellers there do not provide it. But you can also buy water in other sellers in that place, just like other non-permanent street sellers.

Me and the Spot

I shared the food with my friend from Hong Kong, Chung Wing Yeung. My another friend from Romania, Horia Diaconescu took this picture. We sat in the edge of tree's cement pot, it was comfortable enough for us. On photo, You can also see  a man riding and bringing bike. It is common view to see in Kota Tua. He is the person who have the bikes for rent for visitors who want to go around experiencing Kota Tua. Personally, I like this place so much. Especially because  I can both taste and feel Kupat Sayur, the authentic menu of Jakarta :)
