MOUNT MARAPI
Mount Marapi is one of the active stratovolcanoes that exists in Indonesia. Another stratovolcanoes that is still active until now are mount Marapi, Semeru, Rinjani, Agung, Krakatoa, Sinabung, Ijen, Slamet, Raung, and others. These mounts are called stratovolcanoes because of their conical shape and its steep slopes. It is located in West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is still a part of Bukit Barisan mountains that spreads from the northernmost part of Aceh to the southernmost part of Lampung. Mount Marapi's shape is conical. Because of this shape, it is included in the stratovolcanoes mount type. It is built by the previous eruptions' materials, such as a layer created by the hardened lava flows, volcanic ash, and rocks. It has approximately 2,891 meters height that makes it one of the highest peaks in Sumatra. There are many floras and faunas that live in Mount Marapi. They live on the slopes of this mount. The floras that live there are some kinds of tropical rainforest plants, such as palms, ferns, and numerous various flowering plants. On the other hand, the faunas that are commonly living there are various birds like hornbills, pigeons, and some forest-dwelling birds, mammals, insects, reptiles, and some unique faunas. Mount Marapi is also known for its hiking and trekking routes. Many adventurers come to this mountain to feels the challenging experience while hiking there. Mount Marapi also popular with its views that attracts the hikers for its spectacular sunrise view and its beautiful landscape views. All in all, Mount Marapi is an amazing place to go with all of its outstanding views and panoramas.
