Nowadays, many people are crazy about sport. There are so many kinds of sport that fetching to do in all seasons. For example, football, tennis, volleyball, swimming, and basketball. Those kinds of sports are often used as one of event to compete. It will be called by match. But, isn’t a match sounds so creepy without any attention and supporting by spectators?
Indonesia has football club from almost all region. They often make battle between two different region’s club. Definitely, we all can see how many people surround who bring equipment for supporting their idol or favorite club. Not only bring drum, banner (written their club champ), but also wear accessories and even region’s club jersey. They carry on their spirit to support the club and wishing of winning. They usually have songs belongs to the club and they will scream all the way match are held. But, what happened when the result of the match did not match as they expect? Riots would happened. Negative image will appear for not only the violent supporters, but also for the region club itself.
Football or basketball match also often hold by any people. Without exception, high school students. Students usually hold championship for it one of a kind class-meeting or even eventually year event. Here is the unique one. Isn’t just a competition for playing football or basketball, but also the spectators or we barely called it as supporters. People including friends, best friends, or maybe relatives of the players in a competition will scream the players name and even sing a club song.
A senior high school in a small town (Magelang) called Gladiool High School is one of senior high school that often compete with other senior high school in town. They have a club for playing basketball or football and wherever they battle, the supporters will follow by. They named their self Gladiator, an acronym of Gladiool Supporter. Gladiator consist of the students of Gladiool High School from a whole grade. Anybody should participate to support the players of battle. They have various song usually called “yel-yel” to giving spirit and support by the instrument like drum. Some students also bring school’s flag and wave it in the air.
All of the gladiator will never end the song that lead by several students as the instructor who choose which one the song has to sing, and how they have to move like choreography of each song. They also have dress-code in every match. That was so good looking. For all the students of Gladiool High School who are involving be part of the Gladiator will always cheering no matter what will happen. They will always give support thru songs whether get lose or win. If their players are lose, they never act ridiculous by destruct the match-field’s facilities or even fight to another. As their slogan “No Anarchist, No Rasis, No Artist” reflect that they highly lift up peace, loyalty, and equality every time and everywhere they support their team.
