Salah satu contohnya ialah WEDO (Women's Environment And Development Organization) yang mengadvokasi kesetaraan perempuan dalam kebijakan global (WEDO.org, 2018).Â
Selain itu di Kenya, di mana masyarakat menderita karena kekurangan sumber daya alam, Wangari Maathai memulai The Green Belt Movement untuk menanam pohon, mengisi kembali sumber daya dan mengurangi kerentanan terhadap perubahan iklim. Gerakannya lantas menyebar ke seluruh dunia (Macdonald, 2005).
