(Whether Pancasila is still relevant as the Ideology of the Indonesian State and Nation?)
First of all, before I answer the above question, I would like to inform you that the article I created is based on what I think in my view. So I will apologize profusely if there are any mistakes or shortcomings for the answers that I will present later, considering that this article is the first article I have made in my life. This article is not a criticism or anything like that, but again I apologise if there is a sentence or word that contains an element of criticism, I will try to expose it only in my view.
In looking at something whether it is relevant or not, we should do a simple analysis of the relevance of a thing. The first thing we do is to look at the immediate environment around us.
Have the Indonesian people implemented the points of Pancasila as a whole from all aspects of life? In fact, the Indonesian people do not apply as a whole what is in the points of Pancasila, then can the Ideology of Pancasila be called relevant? The answer is not yet.
So that Pancasila can be called relevant to the ideology of the Indonesian nation is to implement and implement the points of Pancasila as a whole regardless of anything. And so that the ideology of Pancasila can be called relevant to the ideology of this nation is to apply the principle of "the body moves to follow the head" and vice versa "the head cannot move if there is no body."
The people and the government should go hand in hand, which means that the government must first implement the points of Pancasila so that the community can participate in implementing them in the life of the state. And just like the government, the public must also be able to understand and understand the meaning of implementing the Pancasila ideology, that way the people and the government can go hand in hand with the Ideology of Pancasila.
But in reality even the government did not implement the 2nd and 5th precepts which read "just and civilized humanity" and "social justice for all Indonesians."
For cases in Indonesia, is the law of justice real and equal? In fact, there are still very many cases out there that transparently apply "blunt laws upwards sharply downwards." From this I speculate that whether corrupt officials for example, they are lightened they legal period because it will affect the performance of government agencies, be the period of sentencing of these officials lightened because only them who worked capably in the field.
As we know that officials can be ordinary people but ordinary people can not necessarily be officials, that way as we know that the period of imposing the law on ordinary people and officials is a bit unbalanced, but "power and material" can also have an effect in a case like this, but for the following I am not the right person to talk about it.
And back again on the relevance of the Pancasila ideology for the Indonesian nation, if we take a quote from the 3rd precept which reads "Unity of Indonesia" in fact, since the past and even today there are still conflicts between communities that occur, the number of racism, and ethnocentrism that occur in Indonesia. With the statement I explained above, can we still call it that "Pancasila is an ideology that is relevant to the Indonesian nation?" the answer is still the same as the answer I answered at the end of the 2nd paragraph "not yet."
But is it that with the irrelevance of Pancasila for the ideology of the Indonesian nation, those of us who as Indonesians cannot do anything? The answer is that we can definitely make Pancasila fully relevant as the ideology of the Indonesian nation. The implementation of Pancasila as the country's ideology is like building houses, the people as the foundation, Pancasila as a pillar of support, and the government that acts as a roof, meaning that the community, Pancasila, and government must go hand in hand.
That way Pancasila as the ideology of the nation can be implemented properly, the government must also be able to be a good example for the community in the field of implementing the points of Pancasila. And we as a society must also be aware of the importance of implementing Pancasila as the ideology of the nation, that way the State of Indonesia and its people have a strong and clear stand and principles, so that Pancasila can be relevant as the Ideology of the Indonesian Nation.
