Everyday I read the online newspaper and internet news and I realized that the world today is not the same with yesterday. I would throw some topic that is regulary heard in indonesian news such as homosexuality style, free sex, drugs, murder, and all the crazy stuff. I called it crazy because, when I was a child, I never heard of it till lately those words become familiar in my ear. Last sunday, Julie B Beck said your children will stretch you, your patience, your intelegent and your faith. I could not agree more because that is true. We need to raise up mother because a good generation depends on the qualities of their mothers. Mothers and mothers -to-be need to get education as high as they can for the sole purpose to raise up their children. Not only that, mothers also need to have spiritual knowledge and faith as deep as they can. Worldly knowledge and spiritual knowledge needs to be balance for one can not stand without the others.
As a future mother, I wonder how can I raise my children in this fast world so that they will still hold the traditional value and the truth of the gospel that will never changed. Its not that I dont want them to keep up with the changes. I want them to hold things that is sacred and valueable and know what they need to do for themselve. These are things I could do in the future.
At this time, I scared rasining children at this globalization era where everything is instant. I want my children to learn that spontanae theory does not exist anymore. The money and food are not spontaneously come. I want them to learn hard work such as plant their own vegetable and fruit trees, raise chicken like what I do. My parents teach me those things when I was a child although our house is small and has no back yard. I want them to appreciate work with following their parents to the work place, do their chores to earn their pocket money, and see how other work around them to give them confort.
I want them have faith in the creator and the ultimate truth of their divine nature. The knowledge of where the are from, why they are here on earth, and where they will go after earth life finish. I want them to know for themselve and chose by their own. I hope they will go on a mission to help others find peace that the world cannot offer.
Family is a basic foundation and I will build it strong. As parents, it is hard to watch children what they do out side the home. Parents could not tag the children 24/7. At the end, children have to chose for themselve and take upon them responsibilities that come from those choices. As parents, all I can do is to give them knowledge and hoping they will act by it. One thing I will always want them to know; they can always come home anytime and find refuge from their burden and trust their parents.
This is an excited time in my life when a girl become a wife and a wife become mother. i have many wish for my children one of them is to be themselve and to know they can do the best in their lives.
