Luckily, in this year, i joined with AIMS schoolarship program, such as schoolarship for exchange student. I came to Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), Chiang Rai, Thailand in Food Technology major, School of Agro-Industry and stayed there around four and half months. What a short time for enjoying all the wonderful  things happened there;)

In my opinion, Indonesia and Thailand have a good relationship, especially in MFU. Do you believe if I say in MFU Library has Indonesian Corner? Yap, Indonesian Corner! It’s such as a room that has a lot of things and information about Indonesia. I always feel like in Indonesia when I stayed there. There are traditional clothes, legend book with English and Thai language, brochures and pamphlets about recreation place in Indonesia, Indonesia-English dictionary, history book about Indonesia, Borobudur, Bali, and many more. There were brochures about university in Indonesia also. There are furnishes like “wayang golek, ondel-ondel, angklung, batik map”. We always use that room for meeting, praying, studying, or even watching movie together. In MFU library, there was no another room as special as Indonesian Corner for another country. It was amazed us as Indonesian students ;)

Another activity that we spent in Indonesian Corner was having conversation with Thai students in Bahasa Class. Right! MFU has opened new Bahasa Class for Thai students who wants to learn Bahasa Indonesia. The lecture was Indonesian, he is Ajarn Pujo (ajarn in Thai means lecture). Ajarn Pujo asked us as Indonesian students to be native speaker in speaking part of his class. Ajarn Pujo “teach” some lessons like “Self Introducing” and then the student should practice that lesson with the native speaker. It was a happy moment when foreigner people speak my own language ;)

Explained about Indonesia

Being an Indonesian in Mae Fah Luang University  was a proud moment ever! Next moment, International Affairs Division gave us chance to celebrate our independence day in MFU. It was out time to show all about Indonesia. We showed our culture to Thai students, staffs, and lectures by singing medley traditional song, by poster, and by food. We made Tempe, Gado-gado, Perkedel kentang, Nasi Tumpeng, red and white Klepon, and Sop buah. We spent all the night without sleeping for preparing the foods. So tired and sleepy! But when we saw how guests like it at all, we did not feel tired and sleepy anymore, there was happy only. We also had a chance to meet our Attache of Educational and Culture, Embassy of Indonesia, Bapak Yunardi Yusuf. He came to this event and gave speech about ASEAN in 2015. How a wonderful moment for us.
