Caitlyn Siehl is a 22 years old poet living in New Jersey. She is currently attending graduate school at Rutgers University. She has co-edited two anthologies and published her first full length poetry book, What We Burried, in 2004 with Words Dance Publishing. Her work has in the Rising Phoenix Review, and Hooligan Magazine. This is one of her poetry that makes me interested to analyze it:
Do Not Fall In Love with People Like Me
Do not fall in love with people like me
We will take you to museums and parks and monuments
And kiss you in very beautiful place,
So that you can never go back to them
Without tasting us like blood in your mouth.
I will destroy you in the most
Beautiful way possible.
And when I leave
You will finally understand,
Why storms are named after people.

ANALYSIS:
In my opinion, this poetry composed in a free verse because the poet didn't follow the traditional pattern. She writes in a free verse, but it can't be said as formless. This poetry written in 2 stanzas written mostly in anapestic octameter, which is composed of 2 unstressed syllables followed by 1 stressed syllable.
The pattern of rhyme didn't follow any traditional pattern because she uses her poetic license. This poet written in unusual pattern, but she can deliver her message well through using some figurative speech to emphasize her theme. In the 5 line, "without tasting us like blood in your mouth"is a metaphor to express how to be in love with someone can be very memorable like tasting blood in our mouth. Furthermore, this line also explores our sense of taste to draw how depth of it feeling in love. In the line 10,"why storms are named after people" is a personification.
She also uses some sensory content or imagery to attract reader’s attention. Some words that explore our sense of vision like museums, parks, monuments, very beautiful place is referring to places that mostly visited by the lovers.  The word stormsthat explore our sense of vision refers to terrible tragedy that may be happen in someone life, it also equals to murder or suicidal. She use the word stormsto addressing the destructive thing that someone can do when he/she broken heart.
The poet's theme is summarized in the last stanza of the poem: In love with someone, who is possessive, can be destructive and terrible like a storm. There are many possessive people in the world that can act reckless when they're broken heart. They may be killed their partners or suicide because frustrated of love. In love with someone can be unpredictable like the weather, and the terrible effect of broken hearted people can destroy people they loved. To sum up, this theme is not suitable with any traditional pattern but it can capture the reality of life, because Caitlyn Siehl  is the one of many modern poets that mostly use her poetic license to attract reader’s attention.
