"Destroyer of Our Earth"

"We have a single mission: to protect and hand out the planet to the next generation"-Francois Hollande, President of France. What the meaning of that quote? I am sure all of you must think about what happened to our planet or our earth right now? Our earth is in danger. Why? I want to tell you what are the dangers faced by our earth, what caused it, what effect will we receive, and how to handle it.

Now our earth is facing global warming. What is global warming? Global warming is the rise in the average temperature of the earth land and the ocean caused by increased concentrations of gases in the atmosphere. In the last one hundred years, the average temperature in the earth surface already increases 0.74 0.18 C (1.33 0.32 F). Global warming has happened because of daily activities from the human. For the example is the farmer. In the countryside, there are many cattle farm. Why can cattle farm cause global warming? Cattle farm cause global warming because the digestive process of a cow is very slow causing dirt and fart cows contain methane. 

This cattle farm can contribute more than 13.5% of total greenhouse gas emissions. Besides that, using of fuel oil can also lead to global warming. Fuel oil can add 18.35 billion tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere each year. Carbon dioxide can also be produced by burning forests and agricultural expansion. Now, using carbon dioxide can increase 15.3% of total greenhouse emission. Garbage also accounts for 3.6% of greenhouse gas emissions. Garbage in here is the waste that comes from the accumulation of garbage coming from landfills and industrial waste that is thrown away.

Global warming can lead to some adverse effects in our lives. The first effect is the emergence of various seeds of disease. In 2015 until 2016, recorded more than 4000 babies born in Brazil with the size of the brain and a smaller head. This happens because the baby was born from pregnant women who infected zika. In 2016, in 2016, zika virus has spread to Australia, Iran, Arab areas, and some areas in North America. Besides zika, diseases that will emerge are avian influenza, Anthrax, Cholera, SARS, and Leptospirosis. The second effect is rising sea levels because the ice in the north pole and south poles began to melt. 

Scientists have predicted sea levels will increase to 2 meters by 2100. Many living things are dying of global warming. Global warming can increase a temperature in this earth, so animal and plant who cannot adaptation with the temperature will die. Furthermore, the effect of global warming is the occurrence of storms such as El Nino and La Nina, more floods, frequent forest fires, increased volcanic activity, extinction of many species of animals and plants, and reduced supply of food and water.

Global warming cannot be avoided, but there are several ways that can be done by the government and society to inhibit the occurrence of global warming. The Government can set Global Warming policy or prescribe particular responses or solutions to global warming. For the society, they can do simple activities like dump trash in place, reforest, use bicycle while traveling, use alternative energy, and do 3R (reuse, reduce, and recycle). Do you know 3R? Reuse is reuse of unused goods or use of non-disposable items, reduce is make savings and reduce waste, and recycle is recycle goods that cannot be used into goods that provide benefits.

Global warming cannot be avoided. much of the activity we do that can lead to global warming, and we must do various ways to safeguard our earth for our children and grandchildren. Do small activities that make our earth better. If not now, when? If not us, who else?
