UN General Assembly meetings usually attended by policy makers and politicians generally do not attract widespread interest. But there are famous artists who often appear to give speeches, this gives a lot of attention especially when there is BTS.

They spoke after South Korean President Moon Jae In spoke about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking in turns, BTS is also promoting vaccines, hoping that the world will improve and young people will rise again from adversity due to the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change and digital influences.

More than 980,000 viewers watch on the UN YouTube channel, and tens of thousands more watch on other YouTube channels and platforms.

The seven members namely Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook shared the experiences of the younger generation, and how their views on their future path were shaped by the pandemic.

In a speech at the UN General Assembly Meeting Room, BTS brought a story from a generation affected by the pandemic. In the midst of feeling lost because of missing many opportunities, the story of BTS offers a spirit of hope.

BTS conveyed the message in the context of the opening of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment of the Decade of Action which was held Monday (20/9) evening Indonesian time.

On that occasion, BTS brought "stories from future generations" as the South Korean President's special envoy for public diplomacy.

The following is the contents of BTS's full speech at the UN headquarters, Monday 20 September 2021:

RM

It is an honor for us to be here today. We, BTS, are appointed as special presidential and voice envoys of the Republic of Korea. We are here today to share the stories of our future generations. Before coming here, we asked teens and young people in their 20s from around the world about their last two years and about the world they know today.

Jin will show you some of the answers we received.

Jin

You can feel positive things just from seeing this. There have been times over the last two years when I have also felt confused and difficult, but still, we have people screaming "let's live, let's make the most of this moment".

Jimin

Because we shouldn't be silent when we are at the right time of our lives to take on a new challenge. It's not that we can't blame anyone, and you must be feeling the frustration I felt yesterday. But the world changes as we are transported in an instant to another world.

Jungkook

I'm sad to hear that the admission and graduation ceremony had to be cancelled. It's a moment in life that we all want to celebrate, and missing it can be upsetting. We were also disappointed when our long concert tour plans were cancelled, and for a long time we missed the moments we wanted to finish.

Suga

Yes, this is a time for us to grieve, for the things that Covid-19 has taken from us, a time to discover how precious every moment we take for granted.

Jimin

Suga mentioned the precious things that were taken for granted, and many people answered our questions by sharing photos of their precious moments. Many people show themselves in nature. It seems that over the past two years, the time we spend in nature has felt even more special.

J-Hope

Yes, but maybe because we feel a nagging fear that our time on this Earth is getting more and more limited, We just talked about mourning, but it's hard to even think about mourning for this Earth. Everyone agrees that climate change is an important issue but talking about the best solution is not easy. This is a topic that is difficult to draw conclusions about.

RM

Yes, this is a difficult topic. But I learned that there are many young people who are interested in environmental issues and choose it as their field of study.

The future is unspoiled territory, and we will be the ones to spend the most time in it. So I think these young people are trying to find out for themselves how we can live in it.

V

I hope we don't think of the future as gloomy darkness. We have people who care about the world and  are looking for answers. There are still a lot of pages left in the story about us, so I feel like we shouldn't talk as if the ending is already written

Jung kook

Sometimes the world feels motionless even though we are ready to move. Sometimes you feel like you've lost your way. There are times when we also feel the same way.

RM

I have heard people in their teens and 20s are now called the 'Corona Lost Generation'. That . That they lost their way at a time when they needed the most opportunities. But I think it's an exaggeration to say they have lost. Just because adults can't see their own way, doesn't mean they're lost.

Jimin

Take a look at these pictures. Here we have a lot of people really trying to continue their friendship online in a new way, starting to learn new things, and trying to live a healthier life. Instead of looking lost, they find new courage and take on new challenges.

Jin

That's why I think instead of the "Lost Generation", we should call it the "Welcome Generation", because instead of being afraid of change, this generation will say "Welcome" to each other and move on.

RM

That's right. If we continue to believe in opportunity and hope, we will not lose our way, but find new ones.

Suga

We won't always make perfect choices, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything we can do.

J-Hope

What matters is the choices we make in the face of change. When we heard about our coming to the UN, many people wondered if we had been vaccinated. I will take this opportunity to say that all seven of us have been vaccinated.

RM

Vaccinations are like tickets to meeting our fans and being able to stand here today. As we said today, we are also doing the things we can do now.

V

Like vaccinations, people are constantly working to advance this new reality. I believe the day we can meet face to face is not far away. Hopefully until that day comes, we can continue to fill each day with positive energy.

RM

We think that the world has stopped, but in fact it is moving forward. I believe that every choice is the beginning of change, not the end. I hope that in this new world, we can all say to each other, 'Welcome.'

And now as we look to the future, this is Permission to Dance as a welcome message that we want to share with everyone today.

They hope their generation will be appreciated for its ability to create a positive and healthy world through their online community, not as victims of missed opportunities due to the pandemic.

"I've heard that people in their teens and 20s today are referred to as the lost generation of covid. I think it's an exaggeration to say that they are lost, simply because the path they are traveling on cannot be seen by the eyes of an adult," he said. RM.

And they are also enthusiastic about supporting vaccines.

"Yes, the seven of us, of course have got vaccinated. Vaccines are a kind of ticket to meet our fans who are waiting for us and to be able to stand here before you today," said J-Hope.

Although not their first visit, this year is their first appearance in their new formal diplomatic role as special presidential envoy for future generations and culture and appointed directly by South Korean President Moon Jae-in to accompany him to the 76th session of the UN General Assembly. in New York.

After a speech of about seven minutes, the band showed a video performance of their summer hit, Permission to Dance. The video shows members singing and dancing throughout the General Assembly Hall and at the United Nations headquarters building.

In his remarks introducing BTS, Moon called the band the most beloved artist by people around the world.

Indeed, tens of millions of fans around the world are responding with pride and appreciation to their message and platform, and social media reactions to BTS at the UN are trending in various countries.

BTS even inspired Indonesian ARMYs through their work "Permission to Dance" which has a message of peace and happiness for the whole community.

ARMY Indonesia collaborates with the Difalink platform which has a noble mission to help connect disabled job seekers and companies in need. Based on his press statement, Friday, the collaboration was also a form of celebration of the birthdays of BTS members, namely Jin and Taehyung.

Other BTS members apparently also provided inspiration for the movement in their "Permission to Dance" namely Jhope and Suga who provided financial assistance for friends with disabilities in South Korea.

The fundraising collaboration is carried out through the online platform BenikBaik.com which you can search through online search engines.Later the collaboration will provide some training for friends with disabilities to be ready to work. There are several classes such as basic design, social media, and many other classes.

In addition, Difalink and ARMY Indonesia will conduct learning activities for Indonesian sign language (Binsindo). To enliven the collaboration and also build awareness about disability issues, there is a #PTDChallenge which will be attended by anyone from friends with disabilities and others.

BORAHAE

Borahae is an iconic expression for ARMY, the name for fans of the K-Pop idol group, BTS. The reason is, the one who created the term is one of the BTS members, namely V whose real name is Kim Taehyung.

This expression has the same meaning as 'I Love You'. So, borahae means 'I love you'. This Borahae also contains a deep meaning about trusting each other as a representation of the color purple. The meaning of the word 'borahae' is not only to love, but also to trust with all my heart. The term borahae can be addressed to spouses, family, and friends.

Purple itself is the last color of the rainbow, so the love between BTS and ARMY surrounds the row of rainbow colors until the last color.

The Borahae or “ I Purple You”special message has spread around the world and become an important icon globally. These short sentences have influenced famous brands, well-known organizations, to historical landmarks.

with borahae, BTS teaches its fans that do good in every step, and with that meaning makes all people in the world touched and many have started charity and fundraising as well as foundations with the hashtag borahae

Reported From “ Playeum” Platform on facebook, “Thanks to BTS Borahae Team SG and all our generous donors, we have raised $2,300 to sustain our work and play programmes with children and their adults.

While the campaign has ended, you may still donate to our cause at giving.sg/Playeum-ltd. Your donation will be matched 1-for-1 by the MCCY Cultural Matching Fund, which means that your contribution will have twice the impact!

If you are not able to donate at the moment, we would appreciate it if you could share this message to someone you know who may be interested in donating.”

And there are many ARMY around the world who raise funds for children who have cancer, for natural disasters and so on using the community they have and also carry out the word "borahae" from their idols.
