Global warming had always been our concern since the beginning of industrial revolution. It is because the greenhouse gases. Like CO2, CH4, CFC, CF2Cl2, etc. This effect really important to us because it keep us from getting froze. But it is too much. The gas emission grow exponentially, makes our earth too warm. Greenhouse gases majorly produced by our transportation vehicle emission, industrial pollution, and mines. But is it true the global warming is just because vehicle emission and from coal mines? Of course not, there's another source of greenhouse gases, and it is delicious... Meat. I will show arguments about that. Might be vegetarianism is the solution to reduce the effect of global warming.

Firstly, cow farts. Yes,farts, even Bill Gates concern about this. Cow's farts contain methane gas and methane is 25 times more powerful and effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere. More heat trapped means more warm our earth becomes. The farts occurred because just like human, cow's eat a lot. This 1600 pounds creature producing a lot of gas too because of it. The chemical reaction constantly produce gas even when their eating, that they're digesting it with microbes too.

Secondly, cow burps. Yes again, burps. Cow constantly burps because the way they're eating it's different from us, cattle have a process called rumination. Rumination is a process swallowing, throw up, re-chewing the cud over and over until the nutrition adsorbed. Because of it they keep burping. Cow's farts and burps everyday containing 160 to 320 liters of methane per day.

The amount of atmospheric methane nowadays is the highest point since the era of industrial revolution. Atmospheric methane is the methane present on earth's atmosphere. The 100-year global warming potential of methane is 28, it means over a 100 years period it traps 28 times more heat per mass unit then CO2 (carbon dioxide). Global methane concentrations had risen from 722 parts per billion (ppb) in pre-industrial times to 1800 ppb in 2011 (Wikipedia). This is the highest value in at least 800.000 years, and we can connect it with the amount cattle's we have since our domestication on homo sapiens era. Since then keep raising a lot of cattle and now we have so many of it. Like I said before, lot of methane excrete daily. We can count  the level of methane now and then from  ice located in Antarctic that hasbeen there since ice age. The gas trapped in the ice for millennium, and we compare the concentration.

So you can see, since human doesn't live nomadenly and start to expand civilization, cattle play their parts in release some greenhouse gas.

Cattle is one of the most populous breed of farm animal in the world at 1.4 billion (economist), this is because we are slightly a carnivore and meat is our favorite foods and becomes a necessities. Cow is very important to us because they gave us milk, cheese, meat and on another occasion fuel. In India still use social level, the sudra still use cow shit as a fuel for cooking, when cow's excretion burned it becomes CO2 and H2O another greenhouse gas. If we keep depending on them in 100 years we could make our earth getting warmer. We could eat chicken, and get our milk from plants or other cattle. In US there's 10 million milk cows, in Canada approx. 1.3 million ton of beef annually produced in 2016 (that's about 1791cows). I will make a rough calculation on how much methane produce by them. So,I will take approximately 1.4 billion cows in the world (1.4 10^9) times 320liters CH4 (methane) cows produce per day times 360 days, we get about 1.6128 10^14 or 1.6128 hundred million million methane trapped in our atmosphere every year. So, if we reduce the population of cows about a quarter of it then we could reduce a lot of methane excrete. So, 1.4 billion times a quarter times320 liters of CH4 per day times 360 days that's about 4.032 10^13 liters of methane emission. So, if all humankind doesn't eat meat again could be earth with a normal temperature again.

But all arguments i've shown you before is very hypothetical. We can't deny meat necessities isn't just about food but economically important. On 2006 cattle's asset is about $1.4 trillion. Imagine if we cut those potential economic chances for developing country that really depends on that source for their economic lives. If we reduce the amount of cattle, developing countries that use cattle to increase their economic condition would be the victim because the policy will resist the economic flow.Even there's potential of deflation and people would lose jobs because some the industry of meat and milk might be bankrupt. Be a vegetarian doesn't mean do not need cows. I have an example about be a vegetarian doesn't mean don't need cattle, in India the largest human being that believe in Hinduism is majorly do not use cow as a food, but still their cow population is about 267.6 million (nddb.coop).

There's a lot of problems of this solution again. Vegetarians eat plants, plants needs place to grow, it needs fertile soil, needs water sources. The land needed by plants to cover food supply is enormously big, that's not the only problems. Even in the most fertile land, crop failure still occurred, and how about land that don't have enough water source. Another problem is not every plant can be harvested again and again, the soil becomes unfertile. Another problem again is lot of farmer burn down the forest to gain land of farm. This is just the same. Ironically plants need fertilizer and we get it from cattle. So, as you see this is a domino effect. We can't just eliminate an important part of our artificial ecosystem.

The amount of greenhouse gas because of human activity ishigher than cattle's fart. Factory, transportation, mines, all of it combine isthe factor of this devastating event.

You can see from the graph, human activities since the era of technology is the main problems. When we were still hunting in Sahara desert and migrate every year this doesn't happen. This is an inevitable phenomenon. All of this is directly proportional to our growth on every field.

This global phenomenon is inevitable like Thanos, but as a human we should make our only home safe, and keep searching for a better and better solution.
