SDG Academy Indonesia: Stop War and Violence

SDG's (Sustainable Development Goal) is one of the international commitments which made by United Nation for the prosperity people all over the world. There are 149 countries, civil society and the economic actor with the programe. The main purpose is for overcoming the social and economic problems at the country which needs the help. SDG's programes are with 17 SDG's Goals and 169 targets. In sdg2030indonesia.org, the sustainable development goal's (SDG's) is the action plan of the leaders world including Indonesia for overcoming poverty, gap and protecting the environment.  The 17 SDG's Goals are :

1. Overcoming the poverty;

2. Making the zero hunger;

3. Creating the good health and well-being;

4. Enhancing the quality education:

5. Creating the gender quality;

6. The clean water and sanitation for all;

7. The affordable and clean energy for all;

8. The decent work and economy for all;

9. Developing the industry, innovations and infrastructure;

10. Reducing the inequality all over the world;

11. Developing the sustainable cities and communities; 

12. Making sure the responsible consumption and production;

13. The same insight for the real action in climate change;

14. Keeping on the life below water;

15. Keeping on the ecosystem of life on land;

16. Keeping on the peace, justice, and strong institution;

17. The Partnership in the sustainable development goals achievement.

SDG Academy Indonesia is one example of innovatieve capacityu building program developed by UNDP in collabaoration with BAPPENAS and Tonoto Foundation. I am the one of the students of SDG Leadership Program Batch IV SDG Academy Indonesia (https://www.instagram.com/reel/CrM_wVCt73o/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==).  The academy aims at enhancing capacity of Indonesia's state and non-state actors and developments partners and work in four major components : institusional strengthening and policy advocacy, innovative solution for development, capacity building and knowledgesharing, and strategic partnership. 

All of its for presenting the UNDP Indonesia ACHIEVE (Assitence for Enhanced Innovation for the Achievement of the SDG's in Indonesia). In every batch of the SDG Leadership Program, there are two main SDG's specific topics will be available for participants to explore during the learning period. The specifics topics are sourced from the 13 course modules of the SDG Academy Indonesia. At Batch IV, the two topics are as follows : the poverty alleviation which strongly relevant to Goal 1 and improving quality education which strongly to Goal 4. 

At the end of program, we must do the the capstone project which done by the group which consists with five students. For our capstone project we choose the fourth SDG's in enhancing the education quality. Our mentor is Mrs. Stien Matakupan and the director Mrs. Radhe Ayu. Our group of the capstone project members, they are :

1.  Dila Saktika Negara;

2. Heru Iswahyudi;

3. Muhtar Achmad;

4. Ria Oktorina;

5. Wahyuni M Helmi.

 Our capstone project is PERINTIS (PEdampingan GuRu PendIdik uNtuk Berpikir KriTIS). In english we can translate as "The Pioneer" (Together with the teacher for the critical thinking). in the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) report 2018, The Indonesian Student in the tenth ranking from below from 80 countries. The lowest point in the critical thinking for the literacy and numeracy. In the learning culture doesnot make the student to think critically, the student is  eager to know but not to understand it.

At the 21st century, it is very important for student in critical thinking to be the golden generation in understanding and enhancing the equality education. The golden generation at the end can participate for the keepimg on the peace all over the world and there are no war and violence again all over the world. For the locus of capstone project is at Padang Sumatera Barat (West Sumatera). From our analysis, the are two obstacles in developing the critical thinking. They are :

1. The old learning culture which makes the student just how to know not to understand;

2. The less activities for understand the critical thinking and social skill at the learning process. The student will learn how the teacher teaching in daily life "The children see and do" in the character building.

The obstacles above make the student in critical thinking and literacy less because of the less skill of the teacher in teaching the critical thinking. It happens because :

1. The education system which make the workload with the rigid curriculum;

2. The culture community with the high expectation and less attention for education process;

3. The character education which full of the negative influence Information Technology and unbalacanced learning process in two ways between the student and cukture;

4. The culture learning which for exam the memorization based, how to answer and not how to understand;

5. The literacy which accepts the hoax easily, able to read but cannot analyze.

So for overcoming all of its, the answer is "PERINTIS" (The Pioneer). The activities are  improving the teacher skill in critical thinking during the learning and teaching process. They are :

1.  The learning of the critical thinking and discussion through audio drama among the teachers;

2. The discussion through audio drama;

3. The regular discussion through Whatss Up Group with sharing the critical thinking content;

4. The monitoring and evaluation learning process.

In doing this project we collaborate with :

1. Komunitas Rangkul Padang  (The Embrace Community of Padang City in creating the content of the critical thinking learning);

2. Dompet Dhuafa Singgalang (The Poor Wallet of Singgalang Region for Fundraising, and the sustainablity program);

3. Dinas Pendidikan Kota Padang (The Education Authorities of Padang City Governance for the

socialization  and the participant recruitment);

4. Komunitas Guru Belajar Nusantara (KGBN) - Padang (Sosialisasi dan Rekrutmen Peserta);

5. Bagindo Aziz Chan Youth Centre - Padang (Fasilitasi tempat dan sarana pendukung);

6. The Corporate which care the education quality improvement and SDG's like KKKS Migas (The contractor of cooperation contract in operating the exploring oil and gas).

The main point to be reached at this capstone project for empowering and developing the teacher competency as the educator and pioneer at Indonesia especially at Padang City in growing and developing the critical thinking and literacy. For the sustainablity program can be continued by The Learning Teacher Group at Padang City and also done at the other city and region at Indonesia. So SDG's is our responbility.  Together we can : if we are not, who again?. If it is not now, when again?.
