Nur Seta Bramadi Mohon Tunggu... Wiraswasta - Book writer and former English teacher in LPIA Jakarta and Bekasi (2008-2018)

I'm just a simple man who likes writing, blogging, playing PC game, watching movie, and listening to music. I had an experience in teaching English in Jakarta and Bekasi (2008-2018). My books: Filateli Sebagai Hobi dan Investasi (Balai Pustaka, 2001), Kursus Singkat Bahasa Inggris (BIP, 2011), Kursus Singkat Percakapan Bahasa Inggris (BIP, 2013), Kursus Singkat Bahasa Inggris Bisnis (BIP, 2016), and Percakapan Inggris-Indonesia Bidang Perawat dan Rumah Sakit (BIP, 2021). I had a diploma in graphic design from a School of Design in Jakarta (1993), but later changed my interest into English and literacy. Sometimes I write my blog in English or Indonesian. I was born and live in Jakarta. No one is perfect. Stay humble.

A: It seems that more people like love songs than hate songs. Am I wrong?

B: Could be. The way I see it... love and hate are parts of human's feelings. It's impossible to feel love all the time. Sometimes we feel hate too. It's natural. There's nothing wrong about it. Just for the record, feeling hate doesn't always mean we're suicidal, OK? Haha...

A: OK. Anyway, metal songs contain more hate feelings than love ones. Why is that?

B: People need to express something through music. I think metal music has a certain place for people to express dark, painful, and hateful things. It's just like a way for us to wash away the negative energy inside us. Many metal fans admit that they feel much better after listening to metal music. So do I... haha.

A: You look different, bro. You don't look like a metal fan to me. You don't smoke, don't use drugs, don't have tattoo, and don't have long hair. On the contrary, you look more like a jazz or pop fan to me... haha.

B: Appearance can be deceiving, man. Take Joko Widodo as an example. He's a metal fan too. At the same time, a person with long hair and tattoo could be a dangdut fan, not a metal fan... haha.

A: You're right. OK, back to love and hate topic. Why do metal fans feel hate? What do they hate?

B: It's very personal, I guess. The same like people love something. They have personal reason to love it, don't they? It might sound irrational or weird for other people. But, we have our own reason to love or hate something.

A: Sometimes metal music sounds philosophical too. It can make us think about many things... life, death, crimes, religion, unfair world, politics, war, painful existence, sickness, and other deep-feelings hidden inside our mind. Is that why you like it?

B: Yup. But, I'm not a fanatic fan of metal OK? Some metal bands sing sadistic, violent, or satanic themes which I don't like. I like metal bands which can express my deep feeling or criticize something. Anyway, I don't like watching live concert either. It's expensive, tiring, crowded, and not interesting to me. Sometimes I watch concerts on DVD or YouTube.
