G20 Bali Summit: President Jokowi's Hold Bilateral Meeting with European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen

President Jokowi held a bilateral meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, at The Apurva Kempinski Bali Monday (14//11/2022).

During the meeting, President Jokowi tried to emphasize that cooperation negotiations between Indonesia and the European Union (EU) through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) would be able to experience significant progress in the future.

"The 12th negotiation has been scheduled for the end of 2022. I hope that the negotiations will progress, including on issues of procurement of government goods, SMEs, and export taxes,"said President Jokowi when opening the meeting.

President Jokowi as the Chair of the ASEAN in 2023, also wants cooperation between ASEAN and the European Union (EU) to increase. By looking at one of Indonesia's chairmanship, according to the President, is to fill concrete cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, President Jokowi requested that the European Commission and the G7 be able to provide support and flexibility so that the G20 Summit could produce a declaration

"I want to concrete work results of the G20 that the world has been waiting for to continue to produce once again your majesty's support will be greatly appreciated." Said President Jokowi.

Thus, the President of the European Commission appreciated Indonesia's leadership in the G20 which continues to strive to formulate joint solutions to the global crisis that has occurred. Indonesia is seen as a trusted partner in various strategic issues including renewable energy and food security.
