INTRODUCTION

Today, I will review a journal entitled "Mobile Based Tajwid 1 Learning Media at the Gontor Entrance Guidance Institution with the Demonstration Method" written by 3 authors: Muhammad Sirajuddin Mumtaz Dzaky, Dihin Muriyatmoko, and Taufiqurrahman. This journal was published in March, 2021 in the Procedia of Engineering and Life Science Journal Vol.1 No.1. This journal aims to develop mobile-based learning media for Tajwid 1, which is intended for prospective students of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG). The background of this application is due to the limited availability of printed learning media for Tajwid 1. Therefore, the author provides a solution in the form of a mobile application to solve this problem.

SUMMARY

The creation of the Tajwid 1 application uses the software development life cycle (SDLC) approach and the demonstration method to deliver content by practicing directly to target users. This application was developed and tested using the blackbox method used on several smartphones and showed good and appropriate performance results. This application also received a high score from learning media experts and Tajwid teachers that has experienced this application during test time.

EVALUATION

This application is considered effective as a learning tool. However, it still cannot replace the role of teachers and their real interactions. Although it offers many innovative solutions for learning tajwid, this application is not yet available for the iOS operating system. In addition, dependence on technology can be an obstacle for some users who are not familiar with mobile devices.

CRITICAL ANALYSIS

I strongly agree with the creation of this application. The existence of this application can make it easier for prospective PMDG students to learn tajwid earlier. Even for outsiders who want to learn tajwid can use this application to learn without the limitations of print media. But obstacles may be found for people who are not familiar with technology.

CONCLUSION

The presence of the tajwid 1 application is very helpful for various groups - especially prospective PMDG students - who want to learn tajwid. This application indirectly invites the community to understand technology. This is a significant step forward in utilizing technology for education. However, the role of teachers will still not be replaced, but only the learning method can be improved. Therefore, this application should be used as a complement in the learning process.
