Experience Participating in the MSIB Batch 3 Program Merdeka Campus at Synthesis Academy Partners

KEMENDIKBUD (Ministry of Education and Culture) Indonesia re-opened the batch 3 internship and independent study (MSIB) campus program in August 2022, MSIB aims to provide opportunities for students to learn and develop themselves through activities outside the lecture class, in order to gain experience in the professional world or real industry for 1-2 semesters by getting a certificate and converting credits as experience. I took part in independent study activities in batch 3 this time with the choice of Artificial Intelligence For GenZ Jobseekers. 

There are many partners who have contributed in honing student knowledge, one of which is PT. Indonesian Communication Synthesis. The MSIB Synthesis program is a competency program to build AI readiness (AI Readiness) by increasing individual skills in the field of AI needed as preparation for entering the future world of work. This program also has scope in developing mindset and skillset.

Regarding Synthesis Academy

PT. Sintesis Communications Indonesia is a communications company with a wealth of experience and expertise to build and maintain a high-level network of contacts among government agencies, civil society organizations, businesses, and national and regional media. As a form of concern and contribution to developing Indonesia in the era of globalization and industry 4.0, the Synthesis Academy was established.

Partnering with PT. Orbit Ventura Indonesia, Synthesis Akademi presents learning in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an interesting, effective and up-to-date way to equip Gen Z job seekers with 21st century skills and to meet the needs of the world of work in Industry 4.0

Of the many registrations for the selection program at the Synthesis Academy partner, I, Nabila Farah Anjani with the Electrical Engineering study program at the University of Semarang, successfully passed as a participant in the Artificial Intelligence for GenZ Jobseekers activity. why did I choose Artificial Intelligence?

Certified Independent Study activities at Synthesis Academy include:

1. Lecture Sessions

Lecture sessions are teaching and learning sessions that are carried out in class online, at an agreed time. Lecture sessions must be attended by all students.

2. Mentoring Sessions

Mentoring sessions are question and answer sessions conducted between instructors and students online at agreed times outside of teaching and learning hours.

3. Practice Sessions

Practice session is a practice session where the instructor will give students a number of assignments to work on. During the practice session, students are required to do all the assignments given

I learned many things during this program, from getting to know Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to producing a final project, in this case making a film recommendation program. In addition, I also gained experience in soft skills, including those related to communication, public speaking, time management, and so on.

Through this batch 3 certified internship and independent study program, I got the opportunity to learn about Artificial Intelligence and practice directly in the field I took. In addition, Mentors and instructors at Synthesis Academy partners are also very responsive to the constraints experienced by participants while carrying out activities. I am very grateful to KEMENDIKBUD Indonesia for holding this program and the Synthesis Academy partners, both teachers and mentors who have guided us. I hope that the independent campus and Synthesis Academy partners can develop to train students to add knowledge and insight outside the campus.
