Blizter, a New Face of Indonesian Post-Punk

Bogor (7/6/2022), Blizter is a post-punk band from Bogor, originated on 2019. Blizter was called Blistery Lips when they were forming the band for the first time. 

"Blistery Lips or Blizter was originally meant to be a satirical group for the government, blister means ‘melepuh’ and lips means ‘bibir’ since the government people promised us the things that they’re not going to fulfill, their lips are going to be blistered", Says Chiko.  

They play as a punk rock band when the first time they appeared on Bogor’s music scene, they took the mantle of post-punk with good reasons. "i think there are not much of post-punk band in Indonesia these days, we play post-punk because they’re so melancholy yet rebellious", says Chiko.

Blizter is filled with 4 members Chiko as lead vocalist, Dafa (Dapeng) as the bass player, Apip on guitar and Fadhil at the drums. When we asked about what makes Blizter different from the similar group, chiko replied “most of indonesians post-punker choose Xmal Deutschland , Siouxsie and the Banshees, Killing Joke. While us, we choose Joy Division, The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen as our main reference. "we took the core of post-punk sounds for our musics", says chiko. 

Blizter had their own upcoming project which is mini album and singles that are going to be released before the end of the year. Blizter played the underground event and they’re active on the underground scene. Blizter will be playing on Polusi Svara on the next july. 

"We hope for a better progress on our band, to release our musics as soon as possible, before the end of the year, we’re going to gives us bestest work to achieved our goals and dreams", Says chiko.
