“When words fail, music speaks” is one of pretty sentences which can express our interest in music and so do i,i really love listening music. The genre that i most listen to in my leisure time is country and of course i have my favorite singer who sings this. She is Taylor Swift. I was very fanatic of her. I always surf on the internet to find anything about her, including her life background. I know that downloading her music in the internet is illegal but i thought she won’t even lose a cent of her huge loyalty. What makes me addicted to her songs is the stories that she tells in each lyric.
Well actually, i’m kind of good listener so i listen to many other genres such as, pop, reggae, rock and original dangdut, as long as it is easy-listening. I often judge a song by its’ lyrics or its’ music. I think a good songwriter is the one who can send the value of the song to the listener, not only doing his/her task to get the cash or provisional popularity. A good song is durable. It is not only well-known on a period of time. It has its’ originality who everybody can enjoy.
I love listening to a song while reading its’ lyrics. I can get the feeling, the emotion of the singer which can make me enjoy it more. Another way to enjoy a song is watching to its’ video clip. Through this, i can also see the singer’s expression. Automatically, “We are what we see” , so be careful in choosing your favorite music. It can interfere us now or later.
Listening to music is also helping me to improve my ability, especially if it is foreigners’ songs. We can practice our pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and also writing skill. We can pronounce the words well, we can train ourselves in reading fast along the song is played, we can enrich our vocabulary by writing it right and use the words daily.
So, “nothing is useless” is worked for this kind of hobby. Hobby is not always something sound’s clever like reading books. I’ve found many people who their hobbies is this, listening to songs. And you know what? Music can change us.
