Now my feet won't touch the ground

***

the song title has the word technicolor, which according to wikipedia, is a color motion picture process invented in 1916 and improved in several decades. this term can also describe several concept and it all related to color production on a film. we can say that technicolor is a technology, a new improvement in adding or giving colors in films. the word in this title, life in technicolor, i think, is our effort in having more colorful life, not just black and white. life is more beautiful with colors that we see today. there are colors that you like and dislike, but without them, what a plain world we're living in.

the many words of color are sometimes used as a connotation to a certain event or moment. each color represent everything that happens in your life. whether its good or bad, but that what makes this life more alive.

this version give me a different atmosphere, for there's a lyrics that tells a different story. if we look at this song in viva la vida perspective, its then definitely about war, life and death, tragedy, lost, and love. i felt that there's a sadness in this song but there are also pride in it. this song reminds me to the cranberries's to the faithful departed. most of the songs were stories about lost and some about war, and the emotional experience that dwell inside it

now let's move on to the first verse. the first and the second line, describing a condition that is quite near, or close enough with the writer. he said 'there's a wild wind blowing down the corner of my street, and every night there the headlights are glowing'. he sense something is coming, that there are something different in the air. the word night means the end of the day, so i think he's expecting something to happen in the morning. the next line clearly stated that war is coming. war is one of the color we find in life, a conflict that is always there, all we have to do is just to ignite it to really make it happen. war is something devastating, brings nothing but sadness, it is destructive, and giving you a wound that will never heal. that is why the writer said on the last line of this verse, that it's a violent world we're living in.

but in the refrain, the writer said 'love, don't let me go' so i think he hasn't giving up on love, he still believe in it, that its the only thing that makes this life worth living, love is what makes this life means something, the only thing that is true and real. and he wished to go to a place where the street lights glow, a place bright and warm, safe and secure. he believed that love can take him there. but then there is this war coming, he could hear the sound of rain, that what makes it more dramatic. he heard the sirens sound, which is loud, and usually we heard it as a signal or warning. and the line ' now, my feet wont touch the ground' is to explain that he is floating in an uncertain condition. especially when something big like war is coming, im thinking that everything is unclear, we don't know if we're going to die or stay alive, it is unknown.

the next verse is showing about the time. he said 'time came a creeping', we used the word creep to say something move along slowly or quietly (oxford dictionary). we often said "oh look at the time", we never notice about time, sometimes we hardly realize that time does flee. every seconds of it is a loaded gun, means that  everything is on the verge, on a tip, it almost happen, they are getting ready and prepared for anything that might happen. so the line 'every road is a ray of light' can be described is something moves so fast, the time, the mobility of people in there. and time is moving on, 'time only can lead you on', there is no turning back. and yet the writer said 'still its such a beautiful night', means that he doesn't want to miss a thing of what he had right now. he is enjoying the moment, he just want to be grateful, cause he might not have it tomorrow.

and so once again he said it on the refrain for love to not let him go, and take him to a place where you feel safe and warm. but this war is something inevitable, you can not escape from it, you can't avoid it. but this time the sounds are different to your ears. 'rain coming like a serenade of sound', which is a musical composition, where there is a sense of art and beauty in it. and now he's feet wont touch the ground, explain that he finally made peace with everything. he is in that state of accept things the way they are. and now he is ready and prepared to anything that might happen in the future. i think, he wants to let go of everything in this world so that he can go in peace, with no regret, in whatever battle he might faced, this is stated in 'gravity release me and don't ever hold me down'

***

i found this song telling me that everyday is a struggle to survive, what's coming ahead of us soon or later must be faced, you have to confront it. you can't run away from that. this makes you realize that you can't waste your time, and let it just pass you by, we need to lived every second of it, like the beat of our heart. fully aware of our existence in this world, and above all there is this love that can save us all
