Indonesia's size, rapid pace of development and growing waste challenge make it a market of significant interest for WtE investors and project developers. And Indonesia already has in place some of the policy and regulatory drivers to enable WtE technologies. Waste management and energy authorities are eager to support alternatives that divert municipal solid waste from limited landfills and enhance the country's power generation capacity while improving social and environmental indicators. (Carbon Trust, 2014)

Together with support for local government capacity building to ensure that WtE facilities are economically attractive investments, and attention to its social dimensions, Indonesia could become a vibrant market for WtE solutions.

By actively invest in the development of new technologies to extract various forms of energy sources, to diversify energy supplies through renewables and traditional fuels, Indonesia will then be able to enjoy sustainable energy economy.
