Maximizing Infrastucture and Transportation Readiness for 2023 Eid Homecoming

The weather forecast before Eid al-Fitr on the peak date of the homecoming, which is on April 19-21, indicates potential rainfall with low to moderate intensity, especially in Aceh, Palembang, West Java, and East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi. Rain is expected in almost all provinces. The weather forecast during Eid al-Fitr remains the same as on April 19-21. For the return journey, it will start on May 29 to June 5 in North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and North Sulawesi. 

For Merak and Bakauheni, it should be noted that if there is a climate change like what happened in December when Indonesia was affected by the direct wind from Tibet, there could be waves as high as 2.5 meters, so caution is needed. BasarnasIn general, Basarnas is ready to support Eid al-Fitr 2023 by implementing special standby readiness in cooperation with BMKG, PUPR, KORLANTAS, DISHUB, and local governments. 

Basarnas' readiness covers disaster-prone areas, tourist areas, toll roads, airports, ports, and DISHUB posts. Basarnas has prepared its resources, including sea, air, and land transportation, standby personnel, Basarnas special group, potential search and rescue equipment, and well-trained personnel.
