Tears of Earth
By Leni Marlina
In West Sumatra's land of tranquil streams,
Nature stirred, disrupting peaceful dreams.
Rivers swelled, their banks overflowed,
Tears of earth, a heavy load.
Mountains trembled, their echoes deep,
As homes crumbled, hearts began to weep.
Families scattered, in waters cold,
Stories untold, yet courage bold.
Amidst the chaos, a guidepost shines,
Hope's gentle glow, in dark confines.
Prayers whispered, like a gentle breeze,
Unity blooms, with each heart's pleas.
Padang, once adorned in beauty grand,
Now bears scars, a wounded land.
Yet from the ruins, resilience springs,
Like flowers after stormy flings.
Oh, West Sumatra, may healing flow,
From tears of earth, new strength grow.
With every sunrise, a promise bright,
Of rebuilding dreams, in morning light.
