At this time, East Java is experiencing a significant increase in the number of elderly people from year to year. The increasing number of elderly population will have an impact on the dependency ratio of the elderly population. One manifestation of the government's efforts is the establishment of services for the elderly through several levels, for example at the community level, namely by establishing health services in the form of the Elderly Posyandu.
In Bedali Hamlet, Dalisodo Village, where the majority of the people are elderly residents but there is no elderly health service, this makes the elderly not know anything about their personal health. In addition, the distance to the nearest health service from this sub-village has resulted in some elderly being lazy to check their health regularly.
UM KKN students for several weeks tried to conduct a survey by holding blood sugar and blood pressure screening screening of the elderly around Bedali Hamlet to find out how concerned the elderly were about their health.
So that on (17/10/2022) UM KKN students, cadres, and representatives of health workers from the Bedali Dusun Health Center held an elderly Posyandu at the home of one of the cadres starting at 09.00-12.00 WIB. The elderly were very enthusiastic about participating in a series of elderly Posyandu activities such as weighing, checking blood pressure, checking blood sugar, and consulting with health workers.Â
In addition, KKN students also gave a little explanation about diabetes and hypertension through leaflets using the interview method with the elderly . UM KKN students gave gifts to the elderly and posters inviting them to join the elderly Posyandu. The elderly Posyandu on that day was attended by 31 elderly.
