If we talk about ideology then we will talk about the beliefs held by a country, in defense of the ideology they adhere to, a group of people are even willing to take to the streets and carry out anarchist activities in order to defend their beliefs so that the ideology they believe in is not disturbed and not erased. Before we move on to the discussion, what is the definition of Ideology and Pancasila? Ideology itself comes from the word idea. In addition, ideology also comes from the Greek language which means oida or knowing, seeing with mind. While logi which comes from the Greek logos means knowledge. The ideology was first put forward by Destutt de Tracy, a Frenchman in 1796. According to Tracy ideology is the science of ideas, a program that is expected to bring institutional change in French society. So, Ideology is the result of thinking whose content includes certain values in order to achieve a certain goal. Ideology is also referred to as the identity of a country. Because ideology actually has a very important function for a country, where ideology is used as a thing that strengthens the identity of a state society.
Meanwhile, Pancasila itself is as a state ideology, meaning that Pancasila is used as a guide by the Indonesian people in living their lives. The values contained in the five principles of Pancasila become the foundation of society in socializing, religious life, human rights, and cooperation. The name Pancasila comes from Sanskrit which consists of two words, namely 'panca' which means five and 'sila' which means principle or principle. Thus, Pancasila has a meaning, namely the five basics of the Indonesian state. According to Ir. Soekarno himself, Pancasila is the content in the soul of the Indonesian nation which for generations has been hidden silently by Western culture. So, Pancasila is not only the philosophy of the state, but the philosophy of the Indonesian nation.
Pancasila is a vulnerable ideology, prone in the sense that it is easy to deflect its understanding. At the time of the old order, we know that Ir. Soekarno was desperately with his Nasakom understanding (National, Religious, Communist) which was useful for reconciling the three ideologies that developed in the midst of Indonesian society at that time. The reason ir.Soekarno did that was of course because of Pancasila, for him pancasila was really dynamic, so it was allowed to find the intersection of the 3 ideologies. In the new order era, the notion of pancasila shifted again. Suharto justified his actions in the massacre of millions of people considered PKI on the grounds of maintaining Pancasila, the reason that Pancasila was also used by him to perpetuate his power. In the Reformation era, Pancasila was used as a tool of liberation from the Soeharto regime. Now, after the reform of pancasila, there are many perspectives, many perspectives, and paradigms.
The question is whether Pancasila is still relevant as the ideology of the Indonesian state and nation? It can be said that YES, although many perspectives are different from various people about pancasila itself, but in my opinion Pancasila is the best choice for the Indonesian nation for today, the reason is because Pancasila itself is based on the personalities of the Indonesian nation since long ago, so that pancasila is very appropriate and reflects the Indonesian nation. In the current era of globalization with technological advances where the ease of managing access in various fields, western culture, music, film, fashion, culinary, and so on has broken into the country, Indonesian society today has been said to be far from the values of Pancasila because of the lack of strong doctrines from the pancasila values themselves. What do we need now in the face of a situation/era with the currents of globalization continuing to accelerate towards us? Of course, Pancasila, Pancasila is selective, Pancasila as a filter for western cultures that continue to enter the control of the Indonesian nation which is slowly abolishing the indigenous Indonesian culture itself. Pancasila can easily adapt to changes that occur from time to time without changing the originality and meaning of Pancasila.
What if the PKI G30S event succeeded in replacing the state ideology? Will the country be ahead of the present? Is communist ideology able to bring the Indonesian nation to the present point? Of course NOT, see how the ideological system of government of communism is running in North Korea, all are governed by the state even matters of a privacy nature must be known by the state. Propaganda will become a daily food, communist doctrinal doctrines are also spread through television, newspapers, and even included in the educational curriculum. Indonesia will also be notoriously isolated like the north that has been removed from the world map by the west. Therefore, the Ideology of Pancasila is very relevant to be the ideology of the Indonesian nation until whenever it is, because the values contained are very humanizing for humans as social creatures
Pancasila has an important function, namely as the source of all sources of state law regulated in Article 2 of the Ri Law No. 12 of 2011 concerning the Establishment of Laws and Regulations which states that "Pancasila is the source of all state laws". The position of Pancasila as the source of all sources of law, in accordance with the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Paragraph IV. That way it is not easy to replace an ideology that has been the source of law and the basis of the state that has been attached for a long time. On the contrary, we are the ones who must emphasize the values of pancasila itself, If we go back to read the meaning of the precepts, then we will find a straight line if the point is closely related to basic human needs. The success of the role of pancasila is not achieved by itself but back to us as individuals, as part of one of the Indonesian nations, it is only natural that we prioritize and implement the values of Pancasila in various aspects of social life. And also the government should further strengthen and emphasize the doctrine of the pancasila ideology to its Indonesia nation.
