PISAgro as a collaborative platform aims to increase agriculture productivity sustainably as part of the country's effort to develop food security held a Practitioner' workshop on Tuesday, August 8th, 2018 at Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta attended by the Indonesian government, public and the private sector to support the agriculture development.

The event is divided into three discussion focus, the first discussion was focusing on the Enabling access to Finance in Agriculture, the second forum' focus was about the Technology to Decrease Delivery Cost and the third discussion was about the Designing for Scale and Impact Monitoring.

The third panel discussed about the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) as a method for food sustainability delivered by Sabastian Saragih. Food sustainability means the availability of food in quantity, quality, affordability and nutrition needs. The food security still become a problem for Indonesian.

The M4P approach believes that the market systems that sided with those that are less may be able to build food security and sustainability. To apply this method, Mr. Saragih explained more about the M4P approach which we have to identify who and what commodity that included in the vulnerable to food security. After that we also have to identify the market system mapping to define also the actors that participated in the market system.

Then we have to look for the root of the problem and after we know the root of the problem, we have to identify what kind of intervention and which private partner of regulator that is potential to solve the problem. Mr. Saragih hopes that through this approach, the food security and sustainability can be secured for everyone in Indonesia.

Then the discussion continued by a panel that presented seven panelists from different sectors. The panelists were from PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk.; PT. Koltiva; PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur; Aliansi Petani Indonesia (API); Cocoa Sustainability Partnership (CSP); LTKL (Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari) and; Sinar Mas Forestry-DMPA (Desa Makmur Peduli Api) Project. The panelists explained about their institution' role and contribution to the food security and sustainability.

From this discussion, we can see that the food security is not only becoming one side's problem, but it also become a concern for parties who run in agriculture and it becomes every parties responsibility. So that the food security can be solved with a synergy, collaboration and contribution between parties.
