What is an International Class Program?
The International Class Program is an educational activity designed to provide students with cross-cultural and international learning experiences. This program typically involves visits or direct studies at universities, institutions, or specific locations abroad, aiming to enhance students' global insights, academic competencies, and cross-cultural understanding.

Characteristics of the International Class Program:

1. International Component:
   Students participate in academic activities, seminars, workshops, or visits to universities and institutions in other countries.
2. Integration of Theory and Practice:
   The program is not only theory-based but also includes practical experiences, such as visits to historical sites, business centers, or local institutions in the destination country.
3. Enhancing Global Competence:
   Students learn from real-life experiences, build international networks, and understand global issues relevant to their field of study.
4. Cultural Experience:
   Students are introduced to the culture of the destination country through visits to tourist spots, cultural activities, and interactions with local communities.

Objectives of the International Class Program:

1. Enhancing Global Insight:
   Providing students with direct experiences about education systems, culture, and legal practices (or other fields) in other countries.
2. Expanding Networks:
   Students can establish connections with academics, students, or international professionals.
3. Career Development:
   International experience can be a valuable addition in the job market, particularly in fields requiring global competencies.
4. Supporting Academic Competence:
   The program helps students understand how the theories learned in class are applied in an international context.

Example:

As part of the International Class Program Batch II organized by the Faculty of Law, UWK Surabaya, law students from undergraduate (S1) and postgraduate (S2) programs participated in visits to Shinawatra University in Thailand and Brunei Darussalam. During this activity, they engaged in academic visits, workshops, and cultural explorations, visiting key locations to support their learning process.

This is an effective way to create graduates who are not only competent at the national level but also ready to compete globally.

Participation:

The International Class Program Batch II is MANDATORY for students of the Law Program in the following categories:

• Undergraduate (S1) Law RPL Class
• Postgraduate (S2) Law Regular and RPL Classes

Schedule of Activities:

Saturday, February 1, 2025

• 03:30 AM: Gather at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya.
• 05:55 AM: Depart to Bandar Seri Begawan International Airport (2 hours 15 minutes flight).
• Transit for 1 hour 45 minutes in Bandar Seri Begawan.
• 10:55 AM: Depart to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok (1 hour 45 minutes flight).
• Afternoon: Immigration process, baggage collection, meet Bangkok guide.
• Visit Gems Gallery.
• Visit Chatuchak Weekend Market.
• Dinner and proceed to Jodd Fairs Night Market.
• Check-in at Almas Hotel Bangkok and rest.

Sunday, February 2, 2025

• Morning: Wake up and have breakfast at the hotel.
• Visit Wat Arun and Big Buddha.
• Lunch.
• Visit Honey Bee Farm and Erawadee Herbal Shop.
• Shopping at Platinum Mall, Pratunam Market, December Mall, Central World, BIG C, Shibuya, and Tofu.
• Dinner, return to the hotel, and rest.

Monday, February 3, 2025

• Morning: Wake up and have breakfast at the hotel.
• Official visit to Shinawatra University.
• Lunch at the university.
• Visit Icon Mall and Sook Siam Floating Market.
• Dinner and proceed to Asiatique Night Market.
• Return to the hotel and rest.

• Morning: Wake up and have breakfast at the hotel.
• Visit Dried Food Shop.
• Prepare for check-in at the airport and depart to Bandar Seri Begawan International Airport (2 hours 40 minutes flight).
• Dinner (boxed meal) and check-in at Higher Hotel, rest.

Wednesday, February 5, 2025

• Morning: Breakfast at the hotel.
• Visit university and embassy in Brunei (transportation arranged by travel agent).
• Visit The Mall Brunei for shopping and lunch.
• Visit Jame Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, Nurul Iman Palace, and Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
• Head to the airport for check-in.
• Depart to Juanda International Airport, Surabaya (2 hours flight).
• 9:00 PM: Arrive in Surabaya.
