Do not be confused by the name! The location is not mentioned in the festival's name, even though it is not a new festival. Its name was Thailand International Guitar Festival before the name was changed. Now it is organised by Thailand Guitar Society with cooperation with the Sukosol Hotel Bangkok.Â
Under the management of  Woratep Rattana-umpawan, Leon Koudelak, and Pongpat Pongpradit, this event has been running consistently for 3 years. Marco Tamayo, Anabele Montesinos, Paul Cesarczyk, Roland Dyens, Grard Abiton, Eduardo Fernndez, dan Dale Kavanagh have been invited as guest artists in the competition. So, prepare yourself for the AIGF in June 2018!

GCC seems to take it really seriously to become a 'world class competition'. The guitarist, Xuefei Yang, is currently the artistic director of the festival. The GCC is consistently being held in July. There will be 2 competitions being held; the guitar competition and guitar composition competition.Â
