Yes. I mean it. The Earth is basically polluted, it's very crusty. The air is stuffy, and some people suffer asthma. The ice is also melting!! The polar bears' habitat are slowly fading. It's serious. There is a chance the Earth will sink too. So I will be trying to help by explaining how climate change happens, and how to solve it.
- How does climate change happen?Â
There is a process that causes climate change to happen. It all starts with a thing called, 'Greenhouse gasses'. It is caused by greenhouse effect. Here is how it's made, the gasses in the Earth's atmosphere is basically trapped in the sun's heat. In that process, it causes the Earth to get much warmer. After the greenhouse gasses are produced, there is 'Global warming'. Global warming is caused by fossil fuel, deforestation, and some types of farming. Here are the reasons why and how those things can affect global warming.
When burnt, fossil fuels apparently produce/release carbon dioxide, which makes the air dense. Next we have deforestation. It affects global warming because trees absorb carbon dioxide. So when trees are cut, there's nothing that can absorb the carbon dioxide. Lastly we have the types of farming. There are some types of farming that causes GHG (Greenhouse gasses). So actually, when cows break wind, they actually produce a gas called methane, and methane emits greenhouse gasses.
When global warming gets terrible it causes climate change. The temperature and weather shifts fast, and when the weather changes randomly/fast, people can get sick. With global warming on board as well, it can cause droughts, sea level rising 0.3cm every year, and many more! Based on Climate.gov, Earth's temperature is actually rising by the average, 0.14 Fahrenheit, or 0.08 Celsius.
- Impact on the world
With climate change, there must be an impact on the Earth. These are the impacts; Hot temperature, frequent rainfall, drought, sea levels rising, loss of species and their habitats, and poverty. Imagine a world with all these. Just living for another day is a nightmare. You wake up, work very hard under the hot sun, just for food, which food itself is scarce. It would make our lives a living hell, and I know we wouldn't like it. So... We must deal with climate change.
- How to deal with climate change
Very easy. All you need to do is think if your actions will affect Earth or not. You can save energy at your home, office or anywhere you are. If you are leaving a room unattended, you can turn off the AC, lights, TVs. Or even not use the AC. You can also go to places near you like the grocery or school by bike, or walking. You may also throw away less food. Rotten food cause methane, and methane causes GHG. Either compost the leftovers, or finish it while still edible. All these basically mean that we should go green, and save the Earth and make the Earth healthy again!
