Procrastination is the act of delaying or putting off tasks until the last minute, or past their deadline. One of the major reasons for procrastination is laziness. When a person is indulged in laziness, it will blunt his edge of urge for action. When a person starts fearing the outcome of the task, he tends to procrastinate the task for a later date. Bruce Lee once said "if you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done."

Procrastination is made not born. Procrastination can be influenced by a person's lifestyle or their environment. Procrastination also can happen when someone doesn't know where to start their task or start to fear the outcomes. When a person starts fearing the outcome of the task, he tends to procrastinate the task for a later date while in reality procrastination will not help them to overcome their fear. internal factors have the biggest influence on whether we want to procrastinate or actually doing something. But external factors also play a pretty big role in this situation.

Low self-efficacy is one of the internal factors in procrastination and also the biggest factor why people start to procrastinate. Self efficacy is a person's belief and expectation that they are capable of completing a task. A low self-efficacy person tends to see difficult tasks as threats they should avoid. With this mindset, a person with low self-efficacy will most likely postpone their tasks until they have confidence in doing their task.

The next factor is from the external factors. external factors are factors outside yourself that will have a big impact if we can handle it correctly. Things like technology, other people, or noises around you can lead you to procrastinate. For example; you don't know where to start your task and you want to do some research to help you but suddenly there is an instagram notification so you check that out and start scrolling for hours. It's like throwing yourself in a quicksand and getting drowned.

Procrastination is harmful in every way. Putting off work until the other time oftenly may keep us deprived of the benefits, which might have accrued to us from its having been done. Opportunity lost once is lost forever. There is no guarantee that the circumstances will stay the same. It may change and you may lose your goals because you missed the opportunity. When procrastination becomes a habit, we will live a life of perpetual tension because all the tasks that you've been postponed.

You will never get stronger by avoiding things. Instead, it gets worse. The more you develop the habit of procrastination, you will always be behind. It's like throwing yourself in a quicksand. The more you procrastinate, the more you will be left behind. At the end one you will feel all the frustration because of the task that you've been postponed.

Becoming a less focused person is another thing that can happen when you keep your procrastination habit. One of the factors that causes procrastination is a lack of focus. The ability to focus is important to keep our productivity going. When a person is unfocused or getting distracted by other things, they'll lose their train of thought easily. Also, when a person is already drowned in a good feeling of procrastination they will immediately choose an easy task(procrastinating) over a hard task(actually doing the task). This is the same as eating junk food over healthy food. You might feel good at the beginning but what happens afterward may not be as good as the beginning.

Losing opportunities is the worst effect when you keep your procrastination habit. We all know that opportunity only comes once, the second is only for the really lucky person. As I said before, putting off work until the other time oftenly may keep us deprived of the benefits, which might have accrued to us from having been done. Opportunity lost once is lost forever. There is no guarantee that the circumstances will stay the same. It may change and you may lose your goals because you missed the opportunity.

Of course there are a lot more negative effects when you keep procrastinating. Procrastination is a normal part of life for us, but I believe no one wants to keep their procrastination habit. We must ask ourselves whether we actually realize the dangers of procrastination. When you already realize that, you can overcome procrastination pretty easily. Another way to stop procrastinating is to turn a difficult and threatening task into smaller steps. If a task or task is too difficult, we often put it off and do something else first that might be wasting our time. But if the work is depleted, we can deal with it one step at a time.

In short, procrastination is rooted by many factors. Procrastination also has many bad effects. However, procrastination can still be removed by using my tips above or the other tips. The difference between a successful person and unsuccessful person is that while the successful person is doing their task, the unsuccessful person procrastinates. I think that's all from me, stay focused and keep on grinding.
