In modern education, the focus is not only on academic achievement but also on the development of soft skills to help students face various challenges in the workforce and social life.

Soft skills, such as effective communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving, are essential abilities that need to be cultivated in schools, as they equip students to handle various situations they may encounter in the future.

Body of Argument:

Teacher’s Perspective: Facilitating Soft Skills Development
From a teacher’s perspective, soft skills development should be integrated into the curriculum and daily learning activities. According to the Opinia.id website, a teacher is not only responsible for delivering academic content effectively but also for shaping the character and personality of students.

By applying active learning methods, such as group discussions and collaborative projects, teachers can help students enhance their communication and teamwork skills.

Moreover, when teachers can communicate effectively, it creates a more productive and comfortable learning environment. With the right approach, schools can help students develop soft skills that are not only beneficial for their education but also for their daily lives, both now and in the future.

Student’s Perspective: Preparedness for the Real World
From a student’s perspective, having good soft skills is crucial to boosting their confidence and ability to interact with others. When students actively engage in extracurricular activities such as debates, organizations, or sports, they often reap significant benefits from these experiences.

These activities not only teach technical skills but also help students build the character and mindset needed to work in teams and resolve conflicts.

Research conducted by Akupintar.id shows that students who actively participate in extracurricular activities tend to have better social skills, which help them adapt to various situations, including in the workplace. The research highlights that these students tend to have stronger problem-solving skills and are more capable of communicating effectively.

In other words, the development of soft skills through extracurricular activities not only helps students learn and interact with peers but also prepares them for bigger challenges in the future. This underscores the importance of schools and other educational institutions in providing the support and opportunities for students to develop these skills.
