THE IMPORTANCE OF GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY COOPERATION IN THE PANDEMIC PERIOD

The Covid-19 pandemic is still rampant in all corners of the world. All countries are fighting and doing their best to be free from the snare of this invisible enemy. The good news is that after the production of several types of vaccines, in most countries the Covid-19 cases are slowly being handled. However, on the other hand, it turns out that there are still countries that are in a slump. India is a country that recently shocked the world with the highest spike in COVID-19 victims with the latest data on 8 May 2021 showing that there are already 21.5 million cases there. Two causes that are alleged to be at the root of this surge are the people who still like to cluster around and the government that is not responsive. From this it can be seen from the Covid-19 case in India that if the two parties have good cooperation, then the case of the Covid-19 spike will be handled properly.

After a long period of coexistence with this virus, a vaccine has finally begun to be produced and until now the vaccine is available in many countries. However, with the presence of vaccines, it does not mean that people are free from the shackles of Covid-19, because along with the development of vaccines, our invisible enemy also develops and mutates into new strains. For that, don't ever think that with a vaccine, it means that we can crowd, take off our masks, and stop keeping our distance. In fact, to accelerate the response and prevention of Covid, the role of vaccines provided by the government together with the role of the community is urgently needed until this pandemic is completely over.

The government's role is equally important in cracking down firmly on violators of the Health protocol. A number of policies and regulations have been established since the emergence of this virus, ranging from social distancing, wearing masks, distance school or online school and many more. Also, this rule will still be applied until things really improve. However, if all of these policies are made but without assertiveness and responsiveness from the government, then prevention will be in vain. For example, if the policy is prohibited from crowding out or making large events prohibited, then it must be strictly prohibited for all levels of society regardless of social status. However, for now the government has acted decisively in taking action against violators of the Health protocol and hopefully this will continue to be carried out well until the pandemic is gone.

It would be even worse if the government and society were equally ignorant of preventing the transmission of the covid-19. Many policies have been made but the government is not assertive and this will have an impact on the more and more people are ignorant, and community negligence may occur due to the lack of firm action and counseling from the government to awaken the general public. Judging from this, we can know that these two elements are interrelated and cannot be separated in efforts to eradicate the Covid-19 virus. For this reason, if both parties can work together, a responsive government and obedient society, then the dream of being free from a pandemic can be realized more quickly.

This heart-breaking case can be a lesson for all people of the world and all countries in the world who are struggling against this virus. The government has a duty to provide the best policies for society and society has a duty to obey and heed these policies for the good of everyone. We must know that it is not enough if only the government moves without any action from the community and vice versa. Both parties must equally participate in the prevention and termination of the transmission of covid-19.
