Indonesia Calling, "Indonesia's debt of independence to Australian Workers"

History is the science that investigates the development of events or incidents in the past that are still remembered today. With regard to history, the Indonesian nation also has some history that is still remembered, discussed and studied to this day.

There is one film about the history of the Indonesian nation in ancient times. In 1947, a historical event occurred involving two countries in the Pacific which were connected by trade routes and discoveries, namely Australia and Indonesia.

This historical film tells the story of 1,400 Indonesian citizens who left Australia with Esperance Bay for Java Island, with the guarantee that Indonesian citizens would no longer land in ports that were fully controlled by the Dutch. Esperance Bay is a ship used by Indonesia to sail to Java Island.

Several Australian officials went with them, wanting to make sure that the bail had actually been kept. Before the ship sailed, one of the Australian figures, namely Ev Viollet, as the Federal Secretary of the Seafarers' Union, said that he was returning the flag to be brought home to his new republic as a symbol of support for future Australian workers.

Fight for independence. One of the Indonesian figures also expressed his gratitude and said he would not forget the great assistance from the Australian workers, "Hopefully Indonesia and Australia will be united forever".

Australia knows that the Indonesian nation is a good nation, because for years Indonesia has positioned the Australian nation as a friend or city dweller of the Australian nation.

Some of the things Indonesians do that make Australians feel comfortable with Indonesia are, women learn the names of vegetables in Australia, mothers think children are the same in any language, there are Indonesian soldiers and sailors, they know them as warriors against a common enemy.

When Australia won at Martin Place, Indonesia also provided support in the form of pounds and musical accompaniment. Australians love traditional Indonesian songs even if they don't know the meaning.

The Republic of Indonesia has been proclaimed that this is an important bright spot in the constitution of the Democratic Republic, freedom of association, freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and freedom of the press. On that night they celebrated independence by dancing the knights and princesses of the kingdom

Even in exile they have not forgotten the Sublime culture. The dance they perform is over 1500 years old. Before the Portuguese and Dutch came to Java. Republican wives and youth were also present.

72 Million Indonesians vow to defend this independence with their souls, and settle down on the richest island in the world. However, in the past 3.5 centuries, the Dutch colonialists have taken many benefits, from the addition of tin, quinine monopoly, oil mining and rubber plantations, which amount to around 32 million pounds and 100 million dollars per year.

After the war was over they wanted to get all the profits and they needed the ship to be in Australian Harbor. The ships they used to seize islands and treasure to take their oil and treasure, their quinine and oil mines. Ships to conquer the young republic, to transport soldiers, to transport weapons, but the Indonesian sailors said "no" that they did not want to transport weapons to be used against their own people.

This is a direct action taken by Indonesian citizens, namely leaving the ship, leaving the dock, leaving the office, the soldiers also refuse to serve. It takes great courage to fight invaders in a foreign country. They did that even though Japan didn't do anything about it. 350 years of Dutch teaching them.

They joined workers at Australian Harbor at this Wharf, where a large ship was waiting. They also spoke in language the rest of the country could easily understand about the poor conditions, low wages and what the 350 year Dutch colonial occupation of Indonesia meant.

As word spread, workers flocked to listen in, which turned into an unplanned gathering. The Australians say that Indonesian seafarers are not allowed to form associations until they arrive in Australia. They will help organize Indonesia and will not let their fellow workers down.

The Dutch company used to have a fleet to transport Indonesia's wealth, now they have to ask for a ship to bring them back, it turns out that the ship is a humanitarian aid ship loaded with food and medicine.

The Dutch did not know anything about the firearms and ammunition that port workers had reportedly found. But they could not deny the statement from Mr. Chifley, Prime Minister of Australia "The war is over, come home!" Australia supports independent Indonesia. Let the Indonesian people get their independence.

1600 armed Dutch troops departed for Java marched on Sterling castle Pier. The Australian fighters came out to greet them and one of the Dutch spokespersons, don't fight for Dutch imperialism. Australia supports an independent Indonesia but the Netherlands doesn't want to hear the reality.

Now there really was a clash, the wharf workers expressed their answer and left ship after ship in all Australian ports. They told the Dutch that loading cargo was one of their livelihoods, they would also load cargo for Indonesia at any time if they received guarantees that these cargoes were not weapons or supplies that could be used against the Indonesian people.

A black prohibition was spread when other labor unions joined, one day the transportation workers turned off the ignition key, and prevented the Dutch from sailing, the shipping employees also disobeyed orders from the Netherlands. Workers from every country support all forms of Australian action.

People have taken action and now is the time for the voices of the leaders to support the principles of the Atlantic charter, several important people protesting the use of armed forces to suppress the Indonesian people. In the big meeting there was someone who reported that the Indonesian people had proven they could lead their own country. The Indonesian people are grateful for Australia's assistance such as detaining ships for the Netherlands and others.

However, the Dutch succeeded in sneaking in by placing crews on Indian ships, the Australians told their Indian brothers that Indonesia's struggle for independence was India's struggle too, they also ordered Indian workers to stop working by turning on the ship's engine.

Finally the Indians thought and returned, they managed to stop the Indian ship, Indonesian citizens thanked the Indian sailors who had left the crew of the Dutch ship carrying weapons used to destroy the New Republic. Atlantic Charter, the principles must be applied in the Pacific Region and for the Indonesian nation.
