In addition, YouTube also provides provisions for content that is offensive. Users under the age of 18 do not have permission to watch these offensive videos.Â
This is to keep teens and children from watching the videos. The YouTube Kids app is also available for children under the age of 13.Â
Youtube history
YouTube was first implemented administratively to coincide with Valentine's Day, namely on February 14, 2005. Whether or not this was done by the three founders who were former Paypal employees.Â
Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim are the founders of Youtube. At that time, they registered a shop in San Mateo, California as the official Youtube address. Their initial mission was to make YouTube a video-based online dating platform.
Initially, YouTube was only visited by a handful of people but people weren't even interested in YouTube. The three founders ended up placing an ad on the Craiglist platform and would give $20 to anyone who wanted to upload a video on YouTube.Â
In the past, the videos on this platform were still related to online dating, but they weren't well known either. Until finally Youtube made a new policy in which the content opened the most expansive possible door for anyone who wanted to post any video.
The first video uploaded on this platform is titled Me at the Zoo which was uploaded by their co-founder who was visiting Diego Zoo, namely Jaweed Karim, which lasts 19 seconds.Â
The video was posted on April 23, 2005, by the channel of Jawed and has been viewed 222 million times.Â
