Anchorage identitas merujuk pada proses di mana identitas individu atau komunitas "dipasangkan" dengan tempat tertentu, menciptakan hubungan emosional yang kuat antara tempat dan identitas. Contohnya, seseorang yang tumbuh dan tinggal di suatu kota akan mengasosiasikan dirinya dengan ciri-ciri kota tersebut sebagai bagian dari identitas pribadi atau kelompok.
