Muhammad Abduh
He was born in 1848 AD / 1265 AH in Egypt, born in a simple family environment and his father was not a nobleman but a farm worker. Throughout his educational life, he first obtained Education by studying with his own father in a period of only 2 years. After he studied with his father, then at the age of 14 years he was sent to the al-ahmadi mosque, and lasted for 4 years.
After 16 years old he returned to his hometown and got married. Muhamma Abduh's decision to end his education after marriage was not approved by his parents, and made him return to study in Cairo precisely at Al-Azhar. And starting from where he was in his time became a thinker, writer, who developed in various sciences.
The basic style of thought of Muhammad Abduh, as a scientist who has a strong background of knowledge, experience and motivation. He has the basis or style of modern thought and social thought, politics, nationality, and theology and philosophy. He argues with his modern thinking that state reform is very influential on the renewal of the people.
Muhammad Iqbal
He has thoughts about Islamic renewal, namely Muslims need to develop an attitude of dynamism, the cause of the decline of Muslims is stagnation and ignorance in thinking and Islamic law is not static and Muslims themselves must master the science and technology of the west.
Muhammad Iqbal is considered the most important figure because of his literary works and as a classical poet. His thoughts have long been known as Muslim philosophical thinkers in the modern period.
