it has two kinds
First kinds is a person has long life and enjoyed life happily...
Second kindis a person has short life having a lot of miseries...
Long life span = People who always doing Dana ~ People who send metta ~ Transferring merits ~ Helping the poor and weak you have ~ Giving fund to the poor and sick (Buying medicines or surgery) ~ Upon seeing old people or crippled people crossing road ~ They go and help ~ Taking people to see a doctor or to hospital if you are requested ~ Filiality to parents and those elder relatives ~ Never leave them when they are old ~ Another is meditation when reaching a certain level or levels ~ Ones could visualise the cause of sufferings and ones never dare to commit any crimes even in the dark.
Live support to live long life ~ The first thing is to observe The Buddha first precept ~ No killing save people who are going to commit suicide ~ Save animals that are going to die due to hunger due to bad weather ~ Giving talk about important of life and encourage no killing ~ Blood donation to save life here ~ Donate all your organs after death for someone to live and you can also give certain parts of your organs while you are alive ~ You can also finite the whole of your bodies to certain medical teams to carry out examinations and survey ~ But when you do all those things please do not expect anything in return.
Of course there are many more but i do not want to emphasised too much.
Now i wish to give some explanation of how the wick and wax emphasised long life and shot life.
When the flame goes off and the wax is finished and the wick fully used up at the same time ~ The mean the person really reaped a very long life as such person must have contributed a lot to life span and life support full hearted.
When the flame goes off as above but the person did not live a happy life ~ That shows that person also contributes as the person above but his contribution is not that pure and clean.
When the flame goes off but the wick has finished its burning but still has a lot of wax that shows that the person contributes a to life span but didn't do a lot in life support and such a person would live below an average life that is between 50s to 60 the most ~ That also applies to those who does a lot in life support but little in life span (The dead could be due to accident or long term sicknesses).
When the flame goes off and the wick is very long and the wax still about full such a person did not believe in contribution to life span or life or life support (Properly died at very tender age).
